I presume that the current practices count and that there are some who have not practiced.

PUP list dont start until Training camp. anyone injured during minicamp could be PUPed if needed come TC.

yes...not sure these 3 were attended anything close to 100%....but it will be intersting to see the team and who does or does not participate in the full ones in June...
These OTAs are a LOT different than in past years...

There are a lot of players who are eligible. Fortunately, most of our players haven't had offseason surgery that would cause them to not be ready for the regular season. Brandon Tate is probably the only expected PUP at this point.

I don't believe PUP eligibility begins until the start of training camp, when teams put players on Active/PUP.

Has McKenzie been actually placed on the IR?

Are you possibly confusing eligibility with when they end up being placed on the PUP list? I'm not seeing anything about when eligibility starts, only prohibitions against the players practicing after the start of training camp(practice after start and you are ineligible)...

Right, I should have been clearer. The accepted rule is that once a player starts practicing in training camp, he can't be placed on PUP (Active or Reserve). I do not believe this extends back into OTAs (which are voluntary anyway) or other minicamps. However, there has been confusion over the years on whether a player needs to be placed on Active/PUP in order to be placed on the Reserve/PUP at a later date; generally it is believed that a player not on Active/PUP who hasn't practiced in training camp is still eligible to go on Reserve/PUP. That would defeat the entire purpose of Active/PUP, though.

Firstly...McKenzie has not signed a contract so he can NOT go on IR until that is done. As for whether a player who has not practiced can go to Reserve PUP??? Well...he would be on active PUP if not practicing that first day...and that would end when he did.... My question is can a player before training camp be placed on Reserve PUP??? This is important as ACTIVE PUP players ARE counted to the roster of 80...while on reserve PUP not. I ask because it's clear that Tate will NOT be ready to go at the start of the season. Does he just need to sign a contract and then Reserve PUP?? OR does he have to actually count at some point amongst the 80?? What if he held out contract wise (not counted) signed a few weeks later and the reserved PUP (not counted)?? Just curious.

People on PUPP can atttend in class training and discussions, and observe others in walkthroughs. I thought there were certain restrictions on IRed players from doing some training activities, but I'm not sure of the details...
