Naposki played 4 total games for the Pats.

ANYONE who has done anything with the team is always an "ex Patriot".... and sadly even players who were jyst in town for a few games on the bench....

reminds me of when Steven Belichick got busted for a small amount of pot, and it was labeled Bill Belichicks' son busted for pot..

In this case is it more newsworthy because he had a cup of water here.. why don't they say former UCONN Standout.. Eric Naponski.. or just Eric Naponski.

Why wouldn't they describe Steve Belichick as Bill Belichick's son? That's the only reason it was even a newsworthy story. Do you think anyone would have made a big deal of Tony Dungy's son committing suicide if it wasn't Tony Dungy's son or Andy Reid's sons getting busted for buying drugs if it wasn't Andy Reid's sons.

And as far as Naponski, why shouldn't it be mentioned that he played in the NFL? You don't think that's an interesting tidbit in this case? A former professional athlete (albeit a short and forgettable career) being charged with murder? Dude, it's not like the Pats were singled out here since the Colts were also mentioned in the article and the story didn't even dig into his time with either team.

Seriously, man. People need to stop being so easily offended.

We get all butthurt when the news barely makes mention that one of our former players is being charged with murder, but we can lambaste Mark Sanchez for appearing in GQ magazine, a photo-shoot that was taken a full month before he even became a Jet.

My butt don't hurt, there is no offense just making a point when Steven Belichick got busted who cared??, he had a small amount of pot.. when does he become his own entity.. if they captioned the article Steven Belichick busted for pot it would have the same reference as Bill Belichick's Son arrested for pot.. it is not as though his name was Steve Jones or something.. and if it was Steve Jones it would not be newsworthy.

In this case this guy is defined as a Patriot and Colt, he was here for 4 games and no stats... so why is he defined as such??... he was probably a much bigger deal at UCONN than he was here, he was a bouncer also.. does this dumbing down of America make the news more salient by qualifying who the person was rather than what he is. 5 games in three years does is not the most time consuming thing this 44 year old man has done..

If you think that all of this is good reporting so be it, personally it sucks..
