The National Football Post | Diner Morning News: Trade Bait

Makes A LOT of sense for BOTH teams and Lombardi has been pretty good at getting inside information like when he was the first to say Gonzalez was going to Atlanta - This trade has a GOOD chance of happening IMO - The Seahawks don't have much behind Julius Jones and Sanchez is going to want a veteran burner to throw to .

I doubt Belichick wants Deion 'its all about me' Branch back here in NE but if he did I could see us sending Sammy Morris there.

Much rather have Morris, thank you very much.

Lombardi didn't predict this would happen, he suggested it as something the Jets should look into. He also suggested that teams looking for a blocking tight end should call Denver and ask about Graham.

i hope not :(

This trade makes little sense for the Seahawks. Branch was playing well towards the end of the year, and TJ is a dime-a-dozen aging RB.

If they are going to trade Branch it would be for an up-and-coming, younger RB. Leon Washington makes a lot more sense. Maybe Landwhale White.

Branch foe Leon Washington I pray they are that dumb....that is the stupidest suggestion I have ever heard. Branch cant even stay on the field.

I do not like Branch...having him with the Jets would increase the hate I have for teh team...if they did that though DUMB!!!!!!! OT I hope they do..

i would like it if they trade there #1 RB for a WR who never got 1000 yerd even with brady throwing him the ball and his injury prone that would set the jets back even more

I'm 99% sure you are totally wrong and I doubt that the Patriots have any grudge whatsoever towards Deion Branch for making a business choice about his own goddamn career.

Football is a job.

I would hate Branch for going to our rival just like how i feel about ty law now that he played for those POS Jest!

Good point. Belichick never holds grudge against those he feels have wronged him. Just ask Tom Jackson.;)

Deion Branch is certainly worth more than Jones at this stage in Jones' career, even if Branch is constantly hurt.

That being said, why would anyone hate Branch for playing for the Jets if he was traded to them?

Branch didn't wrong him is the point. Only infantile internet posters equate Deion Branch trying to get paid as much as he can at his JOB as some sort of personal insult that can only be interpreted as Deion abandoning poor little BB.

Reading is a lost art...

I loved the Graham suggestion - makes perfect sense for Josh to trade away the only TE on his roster he knows who also knows the system he's installing in Denver, too.

Every once in a while you get this faint hint of why Mike is no longer in a FO...

He left the team high and dry. It wouldn't surprise me if BB held that against him.

They did draft Quinn. Maybe Lombardi thinks McDaniels finds Graham too expensive or something. It's the only thing I can really think of to make that trade notion make any kind of sense.

And he did so by not honoring his contract - he didn't just walk away when his contract was up. I bet BB isn't too fond of him for that.

So you guys think Bill's a huge hypocrite?

He held out because he could get more value elsewhere.

When Belichick cuts someone because the team can get more value elsewhere how is that not leaving the player high and dry?

The NFL is a business and that cuts both ways. You can't have it just one way.
