These are the players at LB that are left on the Free Agent market and may pose some interest by the Patriots

Who,if any of these do you want on this year's roster?

NO OBVIOUS JULIUS PEPPERS RESPONSES PLEASE- We all want him but we know we likely cant afford him,so pass on Julius in this thread.

Forgot to finish your post Patsfan, who's still out there and realistic?

Well What are the choices>

Ok, now the poll is up

Chose Brooks, wouldn't mind giving him at least a look. Depends on whether or not he has something left, which I think he might. We'll be ok no matter what though.

Of that list, only Colvin and McGinest fit the Pats' scheme. I chose Colvin since I think he has more left in the tank than McGinest.

It's so hard to tell because it's difficult to see how some players would translate to the Pats' system (like Pisa, who has had some success in others, but may be too small for us). For that reason, I chose Colvin. If nothing else, we know he's had success with us, and maybe with a full training camp he can regain some of his form.

I chose Willie, but it was him or Colvin, mainly scheme-wise. Probably be affordable and can make max use of their smarts.

Brooks is hardnosed but a bit small and so is Pinoisamoa, but I choose Pisa since he is younger and has potential to be a tackling machine for the next 5 years or so.

McGinest is a player I absolutely love and admire but he is a bit up in age as well as having back problems.

Colvins best days are past him IMO

I don't know much about Boiman

So I went with my new FA Binky Pisa ;)

Unless a prime free agent like Adalius Thomas is available, a veteran

player who has never played the 3-4 may have a lot of difficulty

learning the system. The Pats might the better off with their own

younger players. At least Appleby and Redd have played the 3-4.

You know I forgot a guy named Junior Seau in the poll

Does anyone think Seau is sitting by the phone in case BB wants him to make a TC appearance?

Chose Brooks.

Rosie Colvin - Hands Down.
Get him on the phone.

If I had to choose one not named J***** P****** I would go with Brooks, Vet Leadership Good Smart Player. Does he have something still in him though?

ide say pisa, only if he was cheap tho. other then that i think we should calm down and just trust BB knows what hees doing with the current lb corps

When all the free agent signings began, I wanted Brooks, Taylor, Taylor and Galloway. We've got 2/3 of the veterans who've already signed. Now it's time to go get the last one remaining. I preferred J. Taylor to Brooks because he's familiar with the system and has been successful in it, but Brooks is an old dog who's capable of learning new tricks.

I'll be pretty surprised if Colvin is not in training camp. And if he is 100% healthy, he will be starting & producing.

I didn't go with Colvin just based on his radio work I heard this past season. The way he was talking, I didn't get the "I want them and they want me next year" vibe. Hell, if BB wants to bring back Colvin and Seau, I'm all for it.

We may have to resort to a trade. A person familiar with the
3-4 would be ideal. How about a #2 pick to the Chiefs for Mike
Vrabel. They might even throw in Monte Beisel or Darrell Robertson
to clinch the deal.
