Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

Let me be the first to say it: Washed up bum who won't last three games. :D

So I guess we're going with the young guys.

Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

Enjoy scratching and clawing for 10 wins at best and a 1st round playoff exit, if you even make the playoffs, Jason.

Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

Pats better make a serious run at Peppers

Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

Jason Taylor, a six-time Pro Bowler, is expected to re-sign with the Miami Dolphins today, a source told the Sun Sentinel.

He said he would rather play to a team closer to his family so its not exactly surprising for that and other reasons...

Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

THANK GOD

Now we can end this nearly endless speculation, and get on with our offseason!

Oh wait, the Peppers talk will continue forever... :)

Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

Hopefully we made it expensive for Miami to sign JT

Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

That sucks. I still think LB is still the Pats' biggest weakness and I am still concerned about who will line up opposite AD.

Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

Oh, well, would've been nice to see him in a Pats uniform, but the decision was understandable given he wants to be closer to his family.

Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

Well, this blows.

Probably a one year contract at veteran's minimum. Too bad the

Pats couldn't have offered a 20 million dollar per year offer.

Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

I really wanted him here, but we've still got a darn good team on our hands. Hopefully, we can add some depth to our linebacking corps in the near future.

I share some of your concern - but I feel like the team could not possible have been banking on Jason Taylor as their contingency plan to the LB corps - if they signed him, thats a bonus, but BB must be confident in the group they have.

I guess what concerns me most is that we might not have the depth to use AD at SILB if Bruschi/Mayo or Guyton gets injured.

I'm confident in Pierre Woods as at least an adequate starter & in TBC as a nickel guy/adequate starter, and intrigued by Crable/Redd.

Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

We are up against the Cap if you read Reiss column, we have enough for draft picks and that is it.. I hope they have a plan, because Pierre Woods is now the starting olb.. So we ride with it.. Like I said hope Taylor likes not winning the super bowls because that is what will happen down there..

Re: Official: Jason Taylor signs with the Dolphins.

The other thing to consider is that if LB is truly a thin spot, it might only matter for the base defense, which is probably only out there 40% of the time or so.

We can still run some intriguing packages out there. The 3-3 was working well for us at the end of the year, w Sey being a beast, Mike Wright applying some pressure, and hopefully Green can get his production going this year. Then the 3 LBs in that package would be AD, Guyton, Mayo, which seems just fine.

people here have a higher opinion of taylor than they should

he almost lost a leg last year

we didn't even want him in sd when there was rumors of that happening last year ...and that was knowing merriman was likely going to be re-injured early on in the season

it's been clear his career ended when he signed with the redskins (like many careers have, since the daniel came into power)
