CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — After seeing fans jam London's Wembley Stadium to watch the NFL the past two years, the league is considering adding a second regular-season game overseas in time for the 2010 season.

Well, then they should take the crappiest games between the crappiest teams on the schedule and ship them overseas. How about the Lion's Thanksgiving Day game, which is always a snore. That way they can give away our holidays too, kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

There was supposed to be a Pats-Seahawks exhibition game in Beijing in 2007. I guess that's been forgotten about. Probably wise, that trip is a killer for those that aren't used to it.

They canceled the Patriots vs. Seahawks game in Beijing two years ago, odd they aren't going there first before putting the second game in London...

They were invited to play in 2009 so officials there want to have a game held in China..

There are reports like this one that the game is lagging behind other sports in China, it's a huge opportunity to gain awareness and interest of the sport among people who may only pay attention to it once per year.

Interesting article. I've never met one Chinese person who is an NFL fan. Many like the NBA, even before Yao but especially since him. I think that football just doesn't translate well, and 99.9% of people don't even care about the Super Bowl. I can't imagine it ever catching on here.

That being said, after Brady got hurt there was an article about it in the China Daily. That sucked to see. I think his celebrity goes beyong football, and anyway it's an English newspaper so I guess they cater to ex-Pats.

I'm not sure they won't ever have a game there, it worked for the NBA and MLB it might work for the NFL.

I think there was two games over here you would see ticket sales fall per game. I've been to both games in London, and i've got tickets for the Pats-Buccs game this season as well. However, if there was two games i would choose one game to go, rather than go to both.

Not really sure whether its a good idea at all.

Regarding venue i really think they should go for Twickenham, the national rugby stadium. It is pretty big, 82,000. The field would hold up a lot better as it is desgined to take the punishment of Rugby and the facilities are not too far away from the quality of London. Plus it looks pretty awesome it my book.

This would be the ultimate venue for every NFL game but Wembley is probrably a more prestigous venue and they'll want to make as much money from events there as possible. At the moment theres chaos over the state of the field at Wembley and it's ruined two major semi finals last month which led the the ground staff being sacked and it's the FA Cup final coming up in a few weeks.

Shame because Twickenham is a world class venue and would help the field at Wembley, which is ultimately "soccer" specific. Logic is thrown out the window when money comes into it.

I personally prefer Twickenham to Wembley. I found Wembley quite soul-less. From a selfish point of view (I live in South-East London), I find it easier to get to Twickenham as well.

Realistically there are only 3 stadiums i think that can host a game.

Wembley
Twickenham
Millenium Stadium

Old Trafford would be perfect for me, a short drive. But the pitch isn't long enough for an NFL game. Other stadiums like St James' Park or Emirates could be considered but don't really see the point when there are other, bigger stadiums.

If they are going to play two games overseas one should be somewhere else like Mexico or Asia - else whats the point of trying to expand globally?
