SI: Kraft second best owner in the NFL

The Rooney family got #1. Considering they have six championships, I don't know if you can argue (and the fact that they only bought the team for $2500 and it is now worth over a billion). Kraft is a well deserved #2 though.

Robert Kraft, Rooney Family rank among NFL's best owners - NFL - SI.com

We might be no#2, but were the best fans in the NFL. Got the best stadium also. Have I missed any? QB? Team? Awe h*ll! I think we have the best EVERYTHING!!! Period.:D ( Not a bad investment though for $2,500 smackers though)

Even though his team hasn't won any championships, you must give credit to Ralph Wilson for having his franchise worth hundreds of Millions on an initial $50,000 investment

i'm surprised alex spanos isn't in the bottom 5. he will be soon.

Whoever wrote that got this completely wrong about the Ravens owner:

He showed guts in firing Super Bowl-winning coach Brian Billick and his entire staff midway through the disappointing '06 season and replacing him with hard-nosed John Harbaugh.

They were 13-3 in 2006. And even if it was just a typo, Billick wasn't fired until after 2007, not midway through.

Bionoc

I can argue with that.

Until my taxes are reduced because Rooney figured out a way to finance Heinz Field sans tax money; I'll put Bob Kraft numero uno.

Pats fans aren't even close to the best in the NFL, unfortunately.

No matter what anyone says, Bob Kraft will always be #1...

I disagree.

i agree we are to spoiled we boo them cause they did not win 5 SB in a row when lion fans went 0-16 and still cant with for the season to start

I love us, but we aren't in the same universe as the Green Bay or Cleveland fans.

Maybe if almost 1/2 the Gillette denizens someday decide to get off the tushies during a game and stop texting each other instead of watching the game, then we can make a claim. The other thing that is needed is for Bob Kraft to close in the upper end zones of the stadium a bit more. Noise from the vocal few is too precious to lose.

Until that happens, Gillette is merely Southern Massachusetts' version of the Longwood Cricket Club.

I would guess that you ahve never seen game in Philly. They installed a jail at the stadium!

Agreed. I wouldn't even put our fanbase in the Top 10.

I wouldn't either for the unfortunate reason that most of us (including myself) are also Red Sox fans.

Kraft can not get enough credit for what he has done with the Patriots. Consider what he bought and now what he has. He bought a team with a long and storied history of being a doormat, to the best run franchise in all of Pro sports..

Here's a nice article from the business perspective:

The NFL’s Smartest Business Team | BNET

When Robert Kraft bought the New England Patriots football team for $172 million in 1994, he inherited the worst losing record, lowest attendance, and lowest revenue in the National Football League.

Fast-forward 14 years, and the Patriots have evolved into an NFL dynasty worth $1.3 billion, making them the third-most valuable team in the league, according to Forbes. Not only has the team won three Super Bowls and made it to the playoffs nine times in the past 13 years, the Patriots-owned Gillette Stadium brings in $282 million a year, with the average ticket price topping $100 — the highest in the league. The secret to their success? Surprise — it’s not all about Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Here’s a look at the savvy management formula that has made the Patriots the league’s top business team.

Kraft not only owns the Pats, he owns the stadium, and the Revs, (time to insert my yearly plea for Bob Kraft to buy the Bruins), the guy is nothing but class, always doing the classy thing, we as fans are lucky to be rooting for a guy like this.

That was an awesome article to read, it bolsters my pride as a Pats fan; highly recommended to everyone! I've always respected the way the Pats do business; it's all about developing players and coaches instead of going after the #1 free agent on the market. The TEAM atmosphere that permeates the entire organization is great; I can't imagine an ego-maniac prick like T.O. or Ocho-Cinco ever wearing a Pats uniform because they are the antithesis of the Patriots.
I especially enjoyed reading about the way the Pats develop coaches; they have their young coaching prospects attend coaches' meetings and analyze film with them; that way in a few years they'll be ready to fill in vacancies.

hmm, agreed, except for last season. When Brady went down, a lot of the wine and cheese crowd opted out. I remember reading that there were more fights and ejections last season than there had been in years because more blue collar fans got their hands on tickets. I went to the Jets game (first time at Gillette, I live in Maryland now), and the guy next to me said it was twice as loud as the AFC championship game.
