The Patriots announced today, via their Twitter page, that they have signed rookie free agent WR Terrence Nunn.

Nunn was the second all-time leading receiver at Nebraska.

The Patriots revealed last week that they had three receivers in for tryouts, and Nunn was one of last week's tryouts.

Nunn is a longer shot to earn a roster spot.

Did we lose that many WRs in the offseason? I didn't think that depth at WR was that much of a need.

they need a guy to return kicks and punts. the dude from NC will probably be out next year from that knee injury.

That isn't it. Welker handles the punts. Maroney, Faulk, Slater, Butler can/will handle the kicks.

The Patriots just need a few warm bodies to catch the ball for their

four quarterbacks. They also need kickoff and punt return specialists

for minicamps and training camp. I don't know the availability of the

Navy graduates.

i was hoping that welker, maroney and faulk would not play special teams. and i wouldn't want to risk butler returning kicks. remember sehorn? career ruined from a injury that occured on a kick/punt return. is slater even going to make the team? he looked a bit shaky last year.

Slater's only memorable play was the start of the rout against Pittsburgh.

After watching the guy play for four years, I can say with some degree of confidence that he is borderline worthless. He can't return punts or kicks. Doesn't have great speed or very good hands. They must need another warm body as some had pointed out.

To his credit he was a four year starter at Nebraska, but it was a talent depleted squad at WR all of his years.

You also have Wheatley, Wilhite, and Edelman who will be competing for Kick return duty.

Just hope this guys over 6ft
Why? What does being over 6 ft have to do with anything? some of the best receivers haven't been 6 ft tall.

On TV, anyway. I think he's regarded pretty highly as an ST guy, no?

Nunn is right at the 6 foot for whatever significance that is supposed to bear.

Possible slot receiver/returner anyway he must have done something right during the tryouts....

well, I guess there is NO way Patten makes this team now.....

As each drafted player is signed, a player will be cut. Nunn will

be one of the early cuts.

maybe hes trying to compete with Tom.

Right, it's a deep depth on special teams there...

I highly doubt he can make it past the upcoming team workouts, not with the depth all around.
