cupofbullsh!t. i like it. they did a comparison last week on nesn between tek and three of the catching prospects the sox might have been interested in last off season. tek had better numbers than all three of them. saltalamacchia teagarden and some guy from the diamond backs. his name escapes me.

He wasn't ignoring the risk, he had no chance of getting crawford.

That being said, it was mostly penny being slow to the plate. Tek's arm looks awful though.

Before Yesterdays game, Tek was hitting 238/313/492. Significantly worse than last year at the same time.

I hope his newfound power is real, but I have a feeling its not,and his final line is going to end up at 220/300/400.

The problem with Tek is the summer months when his bat goes south. It is not uncommon for him to put up mediocre stats in April & May.

As of today he has a 239 average which is not too good.
He had a better average this time last year.
In 2008 he batted 273 avg April & 299 avg in May
before slumping to 122 avg in June & 197 avg in July.

He is hitting for far better power this year.
Hopefully his power will continue for awhile or
until he is reaquired to pee in a cup.

Hahaha. This pretty much describe a lot of fans of any New England sports teams, but especially the Pats and Sox. I don't wonder whenever I hear other people from different parts of the country say "oh man, Red Sox fans are so annoying."
