Was just thinking about this the other day: Who do you think the WRs on the roster will be? The last few years, running the spread, they've kept 6, but I'm not sure the quality for that is there this year ...

LOCKS
Moss
Welker
Galloway

NEAR LOCKS
Greg Lewis
Brandon Tate

BUBBLE
Slater
Aiken
Edelman
(This crew is mostly STers and doubtful they could play full-time WR if injury bug hits)

Right now, IMO, you have to assume the NEP are adding another WR5. Tate could be that guy, but barring amazing recovery, he'll likely start on the PUP, so that leaves the NEP going into the season with really only four WRs.

Either that, or Aiken will play more WR this season. Personally, I'm leaning toward another vet WR.

But who? There are rumors Arnaz Battle will be cut; if he can stay healthy, he is the perfect physical possession WR to pair with Moss & Welker.

Not sure who else is out there ...

ETA: The other option is that they keep all four TEs currently on the roster, but that runs counter to the spread offense philosophy of the last few seasons.

Locks: Moss, Welker, Galloway
Near-Locks: Aiken (too much ST Value), Lewis
If we keep six: Slater
PUP: Tate
Practice Squad: Edelman

IMO, the only real drama is the Tate's health, which directly affects Slater (Tate is better WR, maybe even KR). In the end, i think we keep six of Moss, Welker, Galloway, Lewis, Aiken, and Slater. Tate goes the PUP then IR route, and Edelman is the perfect squad guy because of his versatility. If Tate is healthier than I think, then he simply replaces Slater. Either we are going six WRs and 2 or 3 TEs

We have never had more than 4 that really contributed as WRs, and the rest of the numbers at the position have been special teamers (Washington, Aiken)
If we have Moss, Welker, Galloway, Lewis no other WR will see any real reps.
If Aiken is there for s/t he will fill in when necessary.
At this point I would say if all of these 5 are healthy it will be difficult for Tate (ASSUMING HE IS ON PUP) to go to active from pup. He may well go to IR if everyone is healthy.

I think we are set at WR, providing we are healthy.

I'm really looking forward to seeing BB wave his magic wand and get Galloway back to where he was a couple of years ago like he has done with so many old guys.
