Hey all--was going to put this story on Twitter before I posted it here... :D

Anyway, talked to Chung's high school coach, and he says the Patriots got themselves a good one.

Christopher Price | Chung?s Career Has Been A Steady March Forward

One note that didn't get into the story -- the coach said he was interviewed by folks from the Denver Broncos about Chung, and he said the following: ""He's the last kid in the world you have to worry about being on ESPN for doing something bad. He's an awesome kid. ... New England has a great character person."

Once I learned that he was part Jamaican and not pure Corean, I for one relaxed a bit. :)

Great read, have liked what I've seen out of the play of Weddle, so if that turns out to be a fair comparison, the Pats have themselves a keeper.

I'm not sure that a Corean is.

I think the Eric Weddle comparison from the article is not a bad one. Chung has similar versatility and intangibles to Weddle, who went early 2nd round in 2007 to SD and was considered a potential "Pats-type player". He's played nicely for SD so far.

Chung seems like a patriots player. He has talent, production, and is mature.

Once I learned that he was part Jamaican and not pure Corean, I for one relaxed a bit. :)

i'm also relieved that he's not purely made of an artificial countertop surface manufactured by dupont.

he is half-chinese, however.

Seriously, do you realize how racist that sounds?

The poster was making a Eugene Chung reference/joke. Although it's not funny. It's scary. Eugene Chung sucked.

He's 1/4th Chinese, and 3/4th Jamaican. His Father is half Chinese.

For crying out loud. What the hell has happened to this place in the past couple of weeks? If you people can't grasp the historical basis behind PWP's joke, try "I don't get it" rather than making yourselves look even more ignorant by missing the Patriots "in" part of the joke and going P.C. about racism.

Now, go police your neighborhoods. Someone might be doing something fun, and that sort of thing needs to be stopped immediately!

What's also funny is that Korean Pats fans guys I know prefer the spelling Corean, for historical reasons, but me not being Corean, I forget why. It's an old Patriots USENET News Group in joke.

Post of the day. PS: I didn't get Pissah's reference either but he's never given anyone any reason whatsoever to assume it was a racist remark so I figured it was an inside joke or something from the forum past that I wasn't in on. My God people seriously need to just lighten up. Or if something concerns you, just ASK.

This joke is completely racist, there's no inside joke on this or a reference to Eugene Chung. You're saying you felt better after you found out he was partially Black.

Don't try to defend it, you're just digging a deeper hole for yourself. You probably also feel bad when you see a Black QB on your team too.

I have a feeling Chung is going to be a beast.
