re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

That's a draft board, not a mock draft. The Pats will probably take someone not even listed at #32. ;)

If they even pick at that spot!(out of first again, or trade down).

re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

I'm going to sticky this thread and retitle it 2010 draft prospects.

Re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

Spikes Pls

I though this as well, or at least in the top 15 prospects. He is on there down as an honorable mention at the bottom. I really am in love with Gerald McCoy and think he could play DE or NT for us and with Seymour and Wilfork situation unknown I am glad we have three second rounders to play with next year. Rolando McClain I enjoyed watching and is a guy I might target in the first as I think he could play SILB and OLB in the AD mold of LB.

Re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

I really like Sergio Kindle and Eric Berry. Berry won't last unless we trade up but he is the second coming of Ed Reed. Kindle is a beast LB. Actually we will probably need to trade up to get either of these guys.

Re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

I want to add Mark Herzlich to my list. He is a true patriot type of player. Extremely smart, mobile and can play in a system but has a non-stop motor. I would love to see him on the pats next year.

Re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

Here's a mock from Andrew Perloff at CNNSI, and Tony Pauline's list of top prospects:

Sam Bradford goes No.1 to St. Louis Rams in 2010 NFL Mock Draft - Andrew Perloff - SI.com
Greg Hardy, Taylor Mays are top 2010 NFL Draft prospects - SI.com - NFL Draft

My preferred list right now:

1. Sergio Kindle, OLB, Texas - 6'4" 255# backer with 4.50 speed, good rushing, dropping into coverage or sideline to sideline. Connor Barwin size and athleticism but experience at OLB and not so raw.
2a. Leonard Marsh, DE, Texas - 6'5" 305# junior with terrific athleticism.
2b. Adam Ultatowski, OT, Texas - 6'8" 310# former TE with nice feet and athleticism who can play inside or out. Nice complement to 6'8" Sebastian Vollmer.
2c. Marty Gilyard, WR, Cincinnati - 6' 185# speedster who could make a nice future pair with Brandon Tate.

Re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

Let's try to fill this threads with prospects instead of mocks unless the mocks tell us something about a prospect.

Not to mock mocks but I think they are rather silly until they know the draft order, but that's me.

Re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

Would anyone be shocked if one of those 2nd rounders turned out to be Tim Tebow?

That being said, 2010 looks stacked at 3-4 DE prospects and some decent LBs as well.

A couple names to watch are Micah Johnson, a BIG linebacker from Kentucky and George Selvie, a 3-4 OLB conversion project from South Florida that I am sure most know about.

Though I don't think RB will be a huge need next draft, I really like Charles Scott out of LSU.

If Tebow continues to work under center with Brady's old QB coach at Florida, he's not likely to be available in the second round.

Re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

Spikes is this year's maualuga?

I don't think BB visited with Urban Meyer this year. Maybe their relationship was solely founded on Chad Jackon's performance?

Re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

Looking at that list, this seems to be a better LB class then last year. When our pass rush is weak again next year, we will need to find someone to get to the QB. Sergio Kindle, Rolando McClain, Brandon Spikes all have the size BB likes. I might have to watch some college games this year.

Also, there are some late first round RBs that have potential too if we lose Faulk, Taylor, or even Maroney.

Re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

Some interesting 2010 links:

1. NFLdraftsite's 7 round (!) 2010 mock:

http://www.nfldraftsite.com/2010mock.htm#1

Some interesting prospects:

- Brandon Spikes at 10
- Sergio Kindle at 13
- Eric Norwood at 14 - 6'1", 270# DE/LB with a nose for the ball and good pass-rushing ability
- Greg Hardy at 15
- Adam Ulatowski at 26
- Ndamukong Suh at 28 - that will never happen
- Mardy Gilyard at 33
- Mark Herzlich at 41 - that will never happen
- Arthur Jones (6'4" 296# 3-4 DE) at 57 - would be nice for the Pats
- RB Le Garrette Blount at 61
- RB Charles Scott at 63

2. NFLdraftscout's top prospects list for 2010 (2009 seniors only):

NFL Draft - 2010 Draft Prospects - CBSSports.com Football

3. Chad Reuter's 2010 preview from NFLdraftscount:

Reuter 2010 draft preview: Underclassmen factor, again - NFL - CBSSports.com Football

He has Sergio Kindle listed as a top 10 pick (bummer - my #1 guy for the Pats), but has Ndamukong Suh, Mark Herzlich and Greg Hardy all as mid-1st guys, within trading reach. He has Terrance Cody and Adam Ulatowski as late 1st/early 2nd guys.

Some of his 2nd round picks to eye (particularly with 3 2nd rounders): OT Ciron Black, WR Mardy Gilyard, DE Arthur Jones.

And some of his top underclassman prospects: OT Brian Bulaga (top 10 pick in my estimation), ILB Rolando McClain, SS Eric Berry, DE/OLB Everson Griffen (wait till next year when all the USC lovers start chiming in on this guy). He's left out one of my favorites, DE/DT Lawrence Marsh from Florida.

Finally, one "sleeper" to keep an eye on: DE Brandon Lang from Troy, 6'4", 250#, 4.68. Sounds a bit like another former DE from Troy who did OK at 3-4 OLB. I haven't seen much of him, but someone to watch.

Re: 2010 Draft Prospects.

Here's another link - CFN's top 250 prospects for 2010:

Scout.com: 2010 NFL Draft - Top 250 Prospects

Possible 1st rounders of note: Taylor Mays, Eric Berry, Brandon Spikes, Sergio Kindle, Rolando McClain, George Selvie, Greg Hardy, Ndamuking Suh, Ciron Black.

Possible 2nd rounders of note: Mark Herzlich (!), Brandon Lang, Obi Ezeh (ILB, Michigan), Brian Bulaga (!), Micah Johnson ILB, Everson Griffen, Carlos Dunlap (!), Mardy Gilyard.

Possible 3rd rounders of note: Arthur Jones, Adam Ulatowski, LeGarrette Blount, Eric Norwood, Sam Young (OT, Notre Dame), Charles Scott

Possible 4th rounders of note: Jevan Snead (!), Eric Decker WR, Lawrence Marsh, DE/DT, Vince Oghobasse DE/DT.

Obviously, a lot of these will move around.

The most interesting prospects to me right now at positions of note:

- 3-4 OLB: Sergio Kindle, Brandon Lang. Maybe Greg Hardy. Though I predict a bunch of people will jump on the George Selvie bandwagon.
- ILB: Spikes and McClain in the 1st, but Eric Norwood is my favorite after that.
- 3-4 DE: Lawrence Marsh, Ndamukong Suh, Arthur Jones and Vince Oghobasse.
- WR: Mardy Gilyard and Brandon Lafell.
- RB: Charles Scott.
- OT: Brian Bulaga (top 10), Adam Ulatowski, Sam Young. Maybe Ciron Black.

And I'm sure Box already has his eye on some obscure, unknown kid who won't get an invite to the combine next year but will go in the 2nd round. :D

Possible 4th rounders of note: Jevan Snead (!), Eric Decker WR, Lawrence Marsh, DE/DT, Vince Oghobasse DE/DT.

Obviously, a lot of these will move around. Some of those 4th round guys will end up in the first. Possibly several of them (Snead and Marsh seem most likely to me).
