I am sure he would be willing to sign with us for about 1/10th what he refused to restructure with his existing team and we would be an improvement over <name of Patriot player that is likely to get cut at camp>

To speed up the process of posts between now and the start of the season I have created a handy templete. Feel free to use.

It's like Jeopardy. It's got to be posed in the form of a question.

You need to redo this thread template in the form of a Poll. ;)

Maybe we can get the little jeopardy tune inserted somehow? I used to use it on IRC.....

Re: Warner Brothers just released Wiley Coyote and the Patriots sign him

...as a replacement for Laurence Maroney
and nobody notices.

Why do people get upset about these threads? If you are not interested, then don't read them.

For my part, I didn't know that Edge had just been released. I know that the Pats aren't likely interested, but at least I learned the news about his release.

Sure beats threads which announce it is such-and-such's birthday! Who gives a crap?

Not upset. But I do like to provide parody and satire when the oppertunity strikes.

<player name> is overrated and a locker room cancer.

just merge them all into this master thread.

So how about Favre....

Well some players it makes sense to discuss like Jason Taylor or Larry Foote because they potentially fit the Pats system and needs. It doesn't make sense for others like Leroy Hill or Edge since they don't seem to fit the system and/or a need.

I didn't post the Larry Foote thread because I thought we should sign him. I thought it was interesting that the Steelers couldn't find any trade partners for a 28 year old starting-caliber LB coming off a Super Bowl.

I figured signing him would come up but I didn't want that to be the focus of the thread.

FWIW--I appreciated God In a Grey Hoodie's b-day threads. It showed that someone took the time to remember, keep up with work to add them, etc. It was important to remind us to include everyone on the team, rather than just focusing on the star players only. It was a shame that people actually were so ignorant, they actually started posting the specified players weakness, faults, etc. I was actually even forced to stick up for freaking Deltha O'Neal at one point.

I appreciate being able to keep current on all player developments, new Pats and general football info--while learning a thing or two from people who know more than I do, and who can teach something, etc. But at the same time, I don't want it to be super serious, people arguing and belittling each other over something that's supposed to be fun, relaxing, and somewhat entertaining still. The birthday threads were relevant. They showed current age specs, reminded us about other, less relevant players, and kept us reminded without having to look at depth charts once a month.

Most of all it was meant to provide player appreciation, until people needed one more extra thread to vent, argue, and generally pick at each other.

With the onset of a new off season, I thought I would bump this satire thread from last year.
