ESPN Sports Nation poll on Patriots & SB44...

The great thing about sports is you have to do it on the playing field. What someone thinks doesnt matter.

ESPN.com Poll Results by State

First of all, what does Alaska have against the Pats?

Second, RI is so small I can't even hover over it to see their voting results.

This strikes me as some kind of big state-small state conspiracy.

This is going to be like the 1989 season of the 49ers. The Patriots are going to have a banner year.

The 49ers had already won a few championships, but Montana got hurt just prior to 1989 and his return, and the 49ers had added a great receiver (Jerry Rice) and a play-making safety (Ronnie Lott).

rice and lott were already on the 49ers before '89. i assume you mean the 49ers had added them before 1989

Right, I meant those two joined the team after Montana had already won a few without them, and before that amazing 1989 season. And the 1989 year was Montana's "I'm back" year after getting hurt, and after the backup Steve Young had significant playing time while Montana was hurt.

I know many folks around here dislike ESPN but as of right now 52% feel that we'll win SB44.

The question is "What's the best-case scenario for the Patriots?" not "Who do you think will win Super Bowl XLIV?" It's really a stupid question because the answer for every team should be "Win Super Bowl XLIV". If all the stars align, is that not the best-case scenario?

Yeah, what it actually means is that 48% of fans think that we have literally zero chance of winning the SB. Bunch of jealous little idiot freaks.

Yeah, I hear that! Now there's some chalkboard material!!!!!

We need some #37 paranoia!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

yeah, I thought we were gonna win it 2 years ago, too.

By contrast, only 21% of people think that the Steelers have no chance. Ignoring for a second that it should be 0% for every team, that's still a pretty significant difference.

No respect!

I'm normally one of the first to get on my buddies about any sort of jinxing, but this year the Pats are going all the way. There is no stopping them this year. Belichick had extra time to look at his team in the offseason, Brady is back, the defense is back healthy and with more experience. They had the best free agency and draft. This year is going to be a blow out Superbowl win, and Brady is going to become the GOAT.
