I asked about this a few months back and there was a resounding no, but this was before the excellent performance James had in the playoffs.

Is he worth a risk to sign with something left? or is he done?

Nooooooooooooooooo!

He may have something left in the tank, but that doesn't mean he is worth signing. We already have FIVE good running-backs, remember?

You are not counting Maphony as one of those 'good' running backs, are you? ;)

I don't think this team has interest and he will probably end up in Cleveland or New Orleans ,then again I was not expecting 2 DTs to be drafted either

No, the Patriots don't need James. They've got BJGE and can find others if need be.

So you think that Edge will be better than Maroney this year?

If we didn't have Fred Taylor I would love to give him a shot. But signing Edge right now wouldn't be prudent.

IMHO, he'd be a great fit in NO, splitting carries with Reggie Bush.

Can he cook? How's his coffee?

2 years ago I would have said yes...

Now? We just signed Fred Taylor. Plus Maroney, Faulk, Morris and BJGE......

Looks like a full-house to me.....Sorry Edge!

Why would they look at James when they already have 4 damn good RBs in Morris, Taylor, Faulk, and Maroney?

I would think if we were going to sign a Cardinals cast-off that Travis LaBoy would be a better fit.

Hey, Brett Favre could possibly be coaxed outa retirement. Should we sign him as our vet backup?

Let me explain the flaw in that logic.

Everyone and I mean everyone on this board knew as a rock solid unshakeable truth that both Matt G. and KOC were miles ahead of Cassel. Just go back and check the threads during preseason.

So MG> MC
KOC>MC

Cassel won 11 games last year. We still have the other two and each are much better than Cassel so if Brady goes down we win 12 games min. Absolutely no need for vet backup.

no.

no interest here. Even at vet minimum pay, posters here think that we will get more out of Green-Ellis.

Sure, let's sign Eddie George while we're at it.

Lets sign him, Shaun Alexander ,Jamal Lewis, and oh what the heck lets put a call into Barry Sanders as well...

I certainly don't. We definitely shouldn't sign Edge, but he's better than BJGE.

Interested in our opponents picking him up... also ridiculously interested in V's hot "treasure" pics...mmm, treasure...
