Remember how two years ago Philadelphia seemed to get a number of players we wanted for the Patriots (e.g., Stewart Bradley)?

Well, now Houston's taken their place: they got Connor Barwin yesterday, and now they've taken James Casey.

*grumble grumble grumble*

Yes, IBBIT, but it still stings a bit when this happens.

And Houston does not play a 3-4. Interesting!

I keep thinking the same thing. They got the two most versatile players in the entire draft, guys I really wanted to see with the Patriots. Actually, they've had a fairly solid draft overall, even though I don't like Cushings.

Man, I'm gonna have to root for 'em now, except for when they play the Patriots!

Well, seeing as they're in the same division as IND (P*yt*n), JAX (whose second-round belongs to NE), and TEN (ditto), I kinda have to root for them anyways. :)

Good point! It will be almost as much fun as rooting against the Chargers last year because they controlled our second rounder.

They broke a lot of hearts on this board when they took Barwin & Casey haha. I had a pretty strong feeling they were going to take Casey being that Rice is right in Houston. He's a steal in the 5th round great value!

Neither do the Giants and they took Clint Sintim!

The Giants day 1 and Bears day 2 took all of my binkies

Well I anticipated Houston taking Cushing. He's a great fit for their D. It was mildly upsetting when they scooped Barwin though. Those are the breaks, the Pats felt getting a DT (Brace) was more important than a young OLB conversion project. I think that says more about Wilfork's contract situation than we think.

NOT JAMES CASEY!?!?!?!!?!?!!?

OH MY GOD!!!!!

PLEASE SAY IT ISN'T SO!

Now we'll never make the playoffs this year.

errrr .... who the hell is James Casey again?

I agree. I thought both Barwin and Casey were perfect Pats picks - two of the most versatile players in the draft with incredible athleticism, extremely intelligent, high character guys. I thought they had "Patriots" written all over them. Shows what I know.

I can't stand Cushing, but I'm hoping to see lots of highlights of Barwin sacking Peyton in the future. :singing:

That would almost make up for the Pats not drafting him. :) :(

Personally, I think it says more about the value that BB places on the DL than anything else, and the fact that the Pats have three major contracts expiring after 2009 (Green, Wilfork, Seymour).

It's like the Giants used my draft board. Weird, since it was a 3-4 draft board. The only guy I wasn't high on is Barden.
