The Patriots drafted 12 (!) players this weekend and also came away with two extra second round picks in 2010. Amazing.

Prob see those DL on PS... don't see them (A) making 53 roster (B) other teams grabbing them (maybe Cleveland...).

Here are all 12 from the Official Patriots site.

Patriots Draft Board

There are videos on some of the players. Some others they were still writing the bios. I don't know why BB can't draft just one of projected picks.

Yeah good draft, I say with a little lucks and coaching, the patriots walked away with 4 first round picks 3 second round picks one in 2009 and two in 2010.

Solid draft with extra picks in the 2nd next year. Still wish we had gotten a LB but in BBWT.

I believe the Pats had 65 players on the roster pre-draft. Plus 12 minus Hobbs that only leaves room for 4 UDFA into TC.

Based on the clips i've seen Tyrone McKenzie hasn't left me all that impressed.

It seems to me this draft was as much about 2010 as about 2009 for us. Most OL + DL contracts expire after this season and we drafted a bunch of those guys. Also I guess it says something about what BB really thought about Hobbs (a liability) and Jason Taylor (he's coming - write it down).

I saw some vids....and the impression I got was...he was ALWAYS around the ball.

Was he taking a lot of people's heads off.....no. Neither does Mayo.

The guy went to three different schools and registered 100+ tackles at each one. This while working to support a family, acclimating to new environments...new teammates...new coaches.

What kind of damage could he have done if he haf matured in one system over a period of 3 to 4 years?

As a human being alone.....this guy is immensely impressive.

If Vollmer makes it and becomes a RT mauler he could become a cult hero here with that size nastiness when he flattens people. Think about it ... when was the last time we had an RT to root for.

I think that's a very shrewd assessment. Except possibly for Butler and Chung, BB was drafting much more for 2010 than for 2009.

Where were you when many of us were saying that Chung was our Round 2 binky, that Butler would be a great pick, that Tate was at the top of our day 2 board??

How come a fullback wasn't drafted in day two? I'd thought Brannan Southerland could be a target.

Because we already have one in Hochstein. ;)

It was a notably weak draft. More like we got 3 3rd rounders, a couple 4ths, some camp fodder, and a couple more picks to trade out of again next year. So if alot of draft pundits say the draft is poor, why not do what they did a couple years ago and TRADE PICKS FOR PLAYERS established in the league?? Why not, you can even "overpay" if you really think the draft is bad...My guess is that BB is just addicted to the process. Coming soon, "under-drafters anonymous"...

What teams 2nd rounders did we pick up? Anyone have that handy? I'm certainly hoping it's Detroit and St Louis!
