Looks like a special teamers guy who can also play WR and fill in on a short-term emergency basis for a few plays at QB. Very versatile.

I'm scratching my head, though, that the Pats didn't go after a more traditional pocket passer, like Brian Hoyer.

My opinion is BB drafted this guy to prepare for the Phins twice a year since they got Pat White. Edelman can be a very good practice squad scout for us.
We'll see I guess.

Good point. No one is going to pick this guy off the PS.

Single worst interviewer in the history of the world...but this guy reminds me of Wes Welker for some reason.

I think they look alike, but maybe they just play alike

From people ive tried talking too ive heard a vast range of opinions on who they believe Chung will project out to be.

Some have him as a third rounder with above average tackling ability but not a game changer.

Others have him rated as a first rounder with exceptional upward potential.

Personally the one thing ive heard across the board is that he is strong. VERY VERY strong. People believe his great workout effort and knowledge of where he is supposed to be along with knowing the playbooks well was the reason BB took him.

Ive heard various comparisons and from one reporter who i respect very much told me if he works out like the Patriots want him too he could be the next Bob Sanders without the injuries.

Yuck. I hope not... Im hoping Chung can be more than just an over-hyped in the box run stuffer.

Another MSU fan? I hated Hoyer this year. The guy is awful when it comes to consistency even though Ringer pulls like 8 guys in the box.

Wha? Bob Sanders is still one of the most dominant safeties in the game.

Prophetic.

They got Hoyer on a UDFA contract.

Here's a nice article on him too.

Getting to know super sleeper JulianEdelman - Mocking The Draft

"Edelman’s times of 3.91 seconds in the short shuttle and 10.74 in the long shuttle would have been the fastest times recorded at the Combine, regardless of position. NFL people asked him to run the short shuttle again because they didn’t believe the number and Edelman actually ran it even faster the next time."

Maybe we have something here...

To put these numbers in perspective: Welker's shuttle time at his pro day was a 4.02. Only THREE players—all DBs—got shuttle times under 4.00, and none under 3.95. The fastest WR at the combine was a 4.08.

BTW . . . not only that, but he also played safety, served as the lead blocker on punts, and even returned a few punts. Better still, he can punt, too! :)

Can't stand interviews where the interviewer is more interested in his own thoughts than the thoughts of the interviewee--the Charlie Rose syndrome.
But at least rose wears jackets that fit him.

And that music?!
