Thought that was an interesting piece here at the tail end of the draft.

Really, well that just made my night. Provided that it's true. :singing:
This is ESPN that we are talking about afterall.

Ya, I hear ya. It was from the ESPN medical analyst. Just thought it was something interesting to throw out there.

Tom Jackson was lauding the Pats for the strength of their team and especially their WRs an how it's difficult to double Moss when you have Galloway and Welker out there at the same time. Trent Dilfer was saying that they are going to annihalate people and he wouldn't want to be playing them.

For what it's all worth.

Tom Curran says "Hi!"

Uh-oh. Given the source, that probably means that he really did have that gimpy leg amputated.

I was thinking about this earlier, you no Moss is going to be doubled almost always, you could double Welker leaving Galloway 1 on 1 which is a mismatch. Double Galloway and Welker will kill you underneath. This offense has the potential to be better then it was with Gaff and Stallworth imo.

Tom Jackson then went on to say that all the players he just mentioned hate their coach...

Tom Curran says "Hi!"

Did Curran happen to mention how that staph infection is coming along? Or when they are going to have to re-do the ACL reconsctruction?

Re: ESPN says Brady tested better physically post-injury than he did at any other tim

Um, how would anyone at Espn know this? Maybe it was the one tidbit they gave Wendi Nix for spending the two days there?

Re: ESPN says Brady tested better physically post-injury than he did at any other tim

Actually that isn't as surprising as it might sound. I think Brady's body was starting to wear down because of all the deep playoff games and how he would play through any injury other than an ACL tear he got. I think a year off might have helped him heal a lot of nagging injuries he had over the years that may never had fully healed.

Rob:

I agree. Brady carried a heavy load. I'm sure he'll come back rejuvenated.

Haaaa. Did ESPN actually waste money sending a reporter to Foxboro? I swore off ESPN during cameragate and haven't watched one minute since.

Re: ESPN says Brady tested better physically post-injury than he did at any other tim

Ya, Wendi Nix was there; I'm not sure what they thought she'd come up with but... She only made a few reports that I saw with nothing special to say...pretty much expected

Re: ESPN says Brady tested better physically post-injury than he did at any other tim

Tom Jackson said that this year's Patriot team is as scary as the undefeated team. He seemed like he wanted to say that we have an opportunity to go undefeated again.

Trent Dilfer then said that our coaches, front office and everything we do as an organization is better than anyone else in the NFL. He said it's not even close. He then goes on to say that we're gonna annihilate teams this year.

Chris Carter added that we everyone should be scared at our team.

The D*CK sucking got uncomfortable. It was great to hear. I can't wait for this season.

Maybe they're trying a reverse psychology thing..since when they bash us we're contenders, maybe by heaping praise on us we'll be mediocre.

No team is unstoppable, but

Healthy Brady
Healthy Galloway
Moss
Welker
Faulk
Healthy Watson
Healthy Maroney
Taylor
Baker
Lewis
Morris

is a lot of firepower for teams to gameplan against. Barring injury, the only thing I see even slowing this team down is if teams can break down the O-line. If the lineup is healthy, the "2.5 men covering Moss" defense won't work against this lineup.

Re: ESPN says Brady tested better physically post-injury than he did at any other tim

Oh, let me follow that up with this, if y'all don't mind:

Unlike Stallworth, Galloway's a legitimate #1 receiver and a former 'elite' guy who's still able to threaten the entire field. Whiile JSP and I have gone around and around on the subject of receivers opposite Moss, I think we'll both agree that a player like Galloway (if he's more the Galloway of 2 years ago than the Galloway of last year) is going to really punish teams for doubling Moss and will allow the Patriots to take full advantage of that double team by going deep on the other side a lot.

When you couple that with Welker in the slot, Watson off the line and Faulk coming out of the backfield, opposing defensive coordinators are going to have a lot of sleepless nights trying to figure out how to stop the Patriots on passing downs. And it's all going to fall into place because Mr. Brady is back and healthy.

This is right out of the torn ACL off-season playbook. In other words, every single player in history with Brady's injury has had the exact same thing said about him publicly at some point during the follwoing offseason.
