Rick Gosselin's final NFL mock draft | Rick Gosselin Columns | Sports News | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News

#23 Peria Jerry DT Miss.
Team needs: DT, DE, TE, QB
Comment: Bill Belichick won two Super Bowls as defensive coordinator of the New York Giants and three more as head coach of the Patriots with a dominating defensive front. You can never have enough quality linemen.
------------------------------------

Jerry would certainly bolster the DL, however I have some concerns on where he would fit in this defense. At 6'1 300 he seems more suited to play the nose. Pats like DT's that are in the 6'5 range.

Is this Gosslin buying into the Jackson rumors and just plugging in the 2nd best DL. Unless the Wilfork deal is falling apart and BB is sure he's gone I don't think that Jerry will be selected here.

Jerry's a 4-3 Tampa 2 DT. He's an awful fit.

Uh, Gosselin forgot Everette Brown, unless he actually thinks he'll fall out of the first round.

Gosslin said Sedrick Ellis last year

That mock is pretty bad. Then again, it could be really good

Nah, I think it'll still be really bad by the time the day ends. :D

On the contrary, Gosselin is a genius.

Gosselin is the top NFL draft forecaster in America, year after year. This year he had 6 of the first 8 picks exactly right (and I wouldn't have expected him to predict the Jets' moving in to the #5 slot.) Of the top 64 names on his Top 100 list, 54 got drafted today, including Gosselin's ENTIRE TOP 41. No one else in America can do that, and Gosselin does it every year.

Gosselin rated Everette Brown the #53 player in the draft, and he went #43. Gosselin is smarter than all of us. (For comparison, Sporting News had Brown going #6.)

Clearly he had an off year. But then again this year's draft was an off draft.
