Would Ron Brace be an options for the Pats? I was looking at the physical measurables b/t he and Raji (according to Mayock's Rankings), and Brace is 6'3 330, while Raji is 6'2 337. Assuming the results below are correct, Brace seems as strong as Raji, and much quicker (3 cone drill measure this?), but much slower in the 20 yard shuttle and not as great a jumper.

Others here know much more about these stats and how they apply to the position than I do, but would Brace be a good option for the Pats.

Brace
Combine Results:
40 Yard Dash : 5.5 seconds
Bench Press : 32.0 reps
Vertical Jump : 28.0 inches
Broad Jump : 75.0 inches
3 Cone Drill : 4.73 seconds
20 Yard Shuttle : 8.15 seconds

Raji
Combine Results:
40 Yard Dash : 5.23 seconds
Bench Press : 33.0 reps
Vertical Jump : 32.0 inches
Broad Jump : 103.0 inches
3 Cone Drill : 7.9 seconds
20 Yard Shuttle : 4.69 seconds

Brace knocked out my best friend in HS with a beautiful hit on the sideline.

I'm convinced he could be an instant impact as backup NT.

I also think he provides great value as a backup NT.

Those #s can't possibly be accurate?

I think the numbers are all screwed up.

Brace's 3-cone is faster than all the WRs and CBs. Other than Brace and a single safety in the 4.7s, everyone else is 6.5+. The numbers are wrong.

He's dead last by a good 2 seconds in the 20 - shuttle. I think they're reversed.

I'm 99% sure he (or his source) flipped brace's 3 cone time and 20 yard shuttle time.

I go to BC and I like both Raji and Brace a lot. I've seen them play plenty as well. Brace is simply not athletic enough to be a force in the NFL IMO. I think he will stick around in the league as a run stuffer and make for a decent backup but he's not the kind of player I would be excited to see the patriots draft (for reasons other than homerism). Raji on the other hand will be the second coming of Vince Wilfork.

They're flipped that way on the official NFL combine results page. Someone definitely screwed up.

Here are the numbers according to CBS.

Raji
40 5.12
20 2.93
10 1.69
vertical 32
shuttle 4.69
3 cone 7.90

Brace
40 5.48
20 3.15
10 1.88
vertical 28
shuttle 4.73
3 cone 8.15

Raji is a significantly better athlete than Brace. And he has looked like a better football player on the field too.

Here's a short video clip of the 2 from the Senior Bowl practices.

i think the one thing you are missing in that little stat mobile you posted is the players ability to play. you can find a bunch of guys with great numbers that just arent any good.

would they take him in the 3rd or 4th, maybe, but not the first day, at least i wouldnt think. i dont know how he would project as a lineman in the 3-4. he seems too slow for a DE and lacks the bulk to be a NT. maybe im wrong, thats just my impression

He could easily play 3-4 NT imo. He is a big dude.

Thanks. I thought the numbers were off, and should have figured that (tired from long day)
