You always want to build toward the playfoff's and this set's us us nice to get on a little roll. Notice the 1pm start times. I like it.

Sunday, Dec. 13 Carolina Panthers 1:00 p.m. ET* WFXT FOX*
Sunday, Dec. 20 @ Buffalo Bills 1:00 p.m. ET* WBZ CBS*
Sunday, Dec. 27 Jacksonville Jaguars 1:00 p.m. ET* WBZ CBS*
Sunday, Jan. 3 @ Houston Texans 1:00 p.m. ET* WBZ CBS*

Keep in mind that those games can be flexed to Sunday night. If the Bills are decent and Owens is healthy, then that game would be a top candidate to be flexed IMO.

Not much chance of those IFs being AREs

Or think about this they might move the time of the Jacksonville game and why? Fred Taylor vs his former team!

They may flex that game, but I doubt it would be for that reason solely. I am not so sure that Fred Taylor's return to Jacksonville would have the nation abuzz.

"Tonight, a good veteran running back returns to the team he spent ten years playing for, in the smallest media market in the NFL, where he won 3 playoff games and made 1 Pro Bowl. Tonight, Fred Taylor returns to Jacksonville!"

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that the Patriots may well be 13-0 at the start of the month and thus would be flexed because of that. Never know....

The only chance that happens is if the Patriots are in contention for a playoff spot.

Aside from that we can rest easy with the assurance that they'll finish the season strong with 1pm games

;)

I would rather lose 4 games and win the last one, than go 18 and Osi Umenyiora again.

Maybe I'm missing your point, but Carolina was terrific last year, and Houston and Jacksonville both have a ton of talent (jacksonville had horrible injury luck last year). Buffalo eventually has to turn into a good team, don't they?

My point was that we can get on a roll heading into the playoffs.

Carolina will be bad this year. They have done nothing in the off season. All the media is down on them. There defense is bad and the Peppers situation has their hands tied. They have no 1st rounder this year and jake stinks. If they has no Steve Smith they are like the Lions. John Fox has not done much to improve the team and to set in his ways to change anything.
Buffalo will be lucky to be 7-9 again. I work with a lot of Buffalo fans and they don't expect a miracle this year even with T.O.
The Jags come on; they may tease a little but I see nothing from them to indicate a threat to us in Dec. Indy or Tenn will have 1st wrapped up.
Houston?... no comment

Of couse I can be wrong and we lose all 4 games

Of course I agree with you, I was actually not suggesting that they would be 13-0 but rather suggesting that I was surprised it had not yet been mentioned. My basic philosophy is that I just want to see the Patriots win the next game they play.

As I see it, this 2009 edition, has the possibility of being better than the 16-0 2007 edition. The wide WRs are better, the runnig backs are better, deeper. The run -pass ratio should be more balanced. The overall Team speed is better.

On Defense, I think the DL is the same personell-wise but a healthy Seymour is better than an ailing one. The LBs corps are faster and deeper. The secondary looks to be improved too, over the 2007 edition.

I don't know whether the results wil be better.

Not to argue in any way, but how can you say that the LB corp is deeper? We still have question marks both inside and outside. The speculation for months has been that the Patriots are going LB with pick #23. And let's not forget all the JP and JT speculation. As it stands, we are going into the season with some healthy but unproven LBs in Woods and Crable. Maybe that's what you're talking about? What am I not seeing? Again, I'm not trying to be a smart-"butt," I just don't see what you see.

Also, it's *personnel*;)
