I did a full 7 round mock draft but to save time im only putting the Patriots picks up!!! I went by best value and some needs.

#23- Rey Maualuga ILB USC- We need to bolster the ILB depth

#34- Connor Barwin OLB Cincinnati- We got our new "Vrabel"

#47- Jared Cook TE South Carolina- Could this be the end of David Thomas or Watson?

#58- Jarron Gilbert DE San Jose State- The best value and the best DE that would fit our system.

#89- Chip Vaughn SS Wake Forest- Rodney is most likely gone so we add depth to our secondary.

#97- Victor Harris CB Virginia Tech- Add some depth and competition in training camp

#124- Kory Sheets RB Purdue- We might want make our RB's competitive.

#170- Frantz Joseph ILB Florida Atlantic- 3rd best ILB for a 3-4

#199- Tom Brandstater QB Fresno State- We had alot of luck picking a QB at this pick in 2000:D

#207- Andy Kemp OG Wisconsin- Bolster our O-Line

#234- Thomas Morestead P Southern Methodist- Gives Hanson some competition.

Remember this is only a mock. Every one knows that we wont take 11 players this draft!!

Id love if we land Maualuga at 23, Id be ok fine with Barwin at 34 but my dream day scenario would be English at 23 or 34. A combo of Ray and Larry in any order would be awesome.

Good Stuff! ;)

Just curious, is there a link to the full mock?
I'm just curious as to how it unfolded, who was available/who was not, who slipped, etc.

thanks

there is no link i did it on paper.

I like every pick besides the Cook pick, who has all the bad attributes of Ben Watson (football IQ, hands) and isn't the same blocker. Maluauga, Gilbert, Joseph, and Brandstater are four of my favorite players, although I doubt that Gilbert is there at 58 (too many 3-4 teams now). I like Macho Harris, just seems to make plays at the most opportune moments (If you him v. BC over the last 2 years, you know of what I speak) and could return punts. Nice job.

No way with bru, mayo and guyton as the core and rudd, alexander i do not think we need a high pick who has to hope someone gets hurt so he can play.

Sorry , vrabel was a OLB who could catch a few balls .This guy played TE more so he is going to be a better TE and from what read a few yrs from being a OLB . so you are drafting a high pick to play 2-3 snaps as TE and to sit on the bench taking up a spot ?.
One has to be cut Thomas, woods, tbc, redd, crabel so he can sit on the bench.so if crabel is cut it will funny to cut a 3rd rd pick for a 2nd rd pick

#47- Jared Cook TE South Carolina- Could this be the end of David Thomas or Watson?
Watson played 76% of the snaps .When we pull a gaurd or tackle [we pulled light alot] he was blocking DE. you think cook can take on NFL DE now ?. With Wes in as the primary receiver between the hash we just do not need a receiving TE any more. So if you draft barwin to contribute as your 2nd TE you will draft another to keep him inactive

Excellent effort. ReyMal can bring the thunder and we have not had an intimadating enforcer in the middle for a while.
