KG to miss playoffs

Re: OT: KG to miss playoffs

Who cares... NBA is awful. Just a bunch of gangsters.

Re: OT: KG to miss playoffs

I think the Celtics can get by the baby Bulls at least. But they're probably going to get eaten up by Dwight Howard and the Magic without KG in there to crank up the defensive intensity. This is a pretty devastating development for the C's playoff hopes.

Not if Stan Van Gundy gets brainlock...yet again...

Re: OT: KG to miss playoffs

Not a Celts fan but thats awful news. I bet they're celebrating in LA/Cleveland though.

Even though I'm a Pistons fan, I like the Cavs b/c most of my relatives are from the Cleveland area(and with the Browns sucking wind, it gives them a big reason to root even harder for the Cavs and Indians).

This IS the playoffs, and ANYTHING can happen, you know. Remember 3 years ago, the Pistons had the best record with 60+ wins...but nonetheless, they crapped the bed a good one in the playoffs. Should have lost to the baby Cavs in the semis, only to get their tails handed to them by an overachieving Heat team in the ECF. Ditto 2 years ago - after almost blowing it to the baby Bulls in the semis, an overachieving Cavs team just handed it to them in the ECF.

Also - while the Lakers SHOULD beat the Jazz in the 1st round, remember Salt Lake City has been a house of horrors for the Lakers. It wouldn't surprise me if this series goes 7(I'm predicting 6). If anything, they should have sat their starters the other night and given this game to the Jazz - otherwise, they would be playing a soft Hornets team instead.

Pt being that NOTHING's a guarantee in the playoffs. When these teams play over a long series, they end up familiarizing themselves so much that it'll be easier for coaches to make adjustments. Look at the Cavs/Pistons series 3 years ago - after that 1st game where the Pistons were just hitting EVERYTHING, Mike Brown saw something on game tape and figured out how to stop their pick and rolls, perimeter jump shootings, etc. They may have lost the series, but Brown ended up giving Pat Riley a blueprint in the next.

What crappy news, Oh Well my motto is that if the Celtics can't win it then I will root for any team to beat the Fakers.

The only way the Celtics can win it all is if they score more points than the other team in 4 games out of a 7 game game series.

Dude, if you've been on this board before, then you would have noticed that this member will occasionaly post a bigoted thread. That doesn't mean you should lower yourself to his level (Matt Cassel?).
As far as the Celtics go, they will smoke the Bulls even without Garnett, tho, I'm of the opinion that they will fall to Cleveland which is better then possibly losing out in the finals against...............
Had Garnett played his entire career in Boston he would be held as high as any of the Boston legends, which is saying a lot. The NBA player that Garnett most compares to is Russell. They don't get anymore intense then those two. If the Celtics are one and done, the trade was still worth it.

Ok, you can stop right there; 0-1 to the Bulls..........
