This season's Patriot Super Bowl DVD won't sound the same. RIP Harry.

I had read that he was the Voice of the Phillies earlier and just now read that he was also the voice of NFLFilms.

The clips that the NFL put together definitely won't be the same without him.

Prayers and best wishes to his family.

Harry did a wonderful job every sunday on the NFL's Westwood One Radio Network

No one in the current few decades did such a glorious job week in and week out - In fact it was rare to see Kalas mess up or call a wrong player or penalty

He is gone but his legacy will live on,especially in Phillies fans everywhere

At least Harry got to see his beloved baseball team win another championship in october before passing away :( .

Somewhere out there, a guy named Michael Jack Schmidt is crying

That sucks, he was perfect for the NFL films. RIP Harry

Wow, I am genuinely upset right now. Sad day. Sad day. :(

His work on inside nfl, not to mention the various Pats dvd's this decade will be truly missed .. He was a brodcasting legend.. He is to the Phils, what Gil is to the pats... He is going to be missed...:(

i live in millersburg, pa. im only 2 hrs. from philly. im not a phils fan, but what a loss for the phils, the nfl, and life itself. harry kalas was not just a voice. he was a icon of a team and city. relax in paradise mr. kalas. you will be missed tremendously.:youtheman:

I didn't realize he was the NFL Films voice too. Wow, I'm blown away by this, I almost feel selfish for feeling deprived of his voice. He is the only one I have ever known do NFL Films and can't imagine another voice doing them in the future.

Thanks for all the hard work you've put in all these years. It's meant more than you know to a lot of us fans.

OMG! It wasn't until I saw this thread that I knew Kalas also did NFL Films. I had heard a few clips of him calling Phillies games today, but it didn't connect.

So I went over to NFL.com and sure enough, there was a little tribute video about him. From watching that I immediately recognized his voice. He's on a bunch of the Patriots highlight films I have. I'll be darned. In fact the video closes with his script from the SB XXXVI highlights.

man that sucks, his voice was alltime classic -- cool guy too, based on that Inside the NFL piece from a couple years back.

so who's next in line? miller beer voice? guy who used to say "toyota tundra" on patriots today?

One thing that hasn't been mentioned in any of the reports I've read is who did the announcing for the game Kalas was getting ready for. Did he have a broadcast partner who just covered the whole game?

That sucks. I don't know if I can watch a highlight reel by the NFL without listening to Kalas. It will be very weird watching Inside the NFL, who uses NFL highlight packages more than anyone else, now that Kalas is gone.

The guy he replaced on NFL Films was John Facenda (Frozen Tundra of Green Bay, the Autumn Wind is a Raider). I don't know if they'll ever find another guy like those two though.

He did not really replace Facenda... Facenda did super bowls and some team highlight films.. Kalas did inside the nfl highlights, and this is the nfl program with steve sabol.. Facenda's last super bowl was the raiders/redskins, then they had a bunch of voices for the super bowls, until they settled on Jeff Kaye..But I dont know who does them now, Kalas only did one super bowl highlight, San Fran /San Diego..
