Who is your Patriots 'dark horse' player for 2009?

I don't know that he's a dark horse but there wasn't a real lot of excitement when we got Fred Taylor...some but not a lot so I think Taylor will perform above expectations.

My "dark horse" on defense is Gary Guyton only if he adds a couple of pounds and gets stronger.

My 2nd guy is Shawn Crable.

My "dark horse" on offense is Fred Taylor.

I like the idea of an Offense AND Defense dark-horse pick!

Offense - Greg Lewis, hands down, no one is expecting anything from him generally speaking.....

Defense - Torn between Crable, Guyton and Woods..... Therefore going with Tank Williams!

Special Teams pick? hmmmmmmmmmmmm The punter we draft?

Is Leigh Bodden an acceptable choice?

I like shawn crable as my dark horse on D I can remember being really excited when we drafted him as I think his upside is tremendous

For offense I like sammy Morris if healthy he can be corey dillon-esq for the pats as far as pounding the rock for those 3rd and 3's

(kevin faulk goes without saying)

Terrence Wheatley, write it down

Defense: Shawn Springs
Offense: Chris Baker

Trying to stir up the debate a little bit :D

My buddy Gary Guyton. I think he's going to really help contribute in a big way.

Read first two sentences of question and was also thinking Guyton. Fans notice him, but media not so much.

Has anyone said Maroney yet?

I've already got my name down for Woods and Watson, but darn it I want Aiken too. I'm really hoping they continue to involve him more and more.

OK, now we're a club -- let's hope he makes it out of Training Camp! :D

Greg Lewis is a good choice, too.

David Thomas, I'm really really rooting for this kid to have a great year. He's got the sweetest hands I've ever seen. He really needs more opportunities to go out and run routes instead of always having to stay in blocking. He should be used like Dallas Clark in Indy. Not blocking. Instead, they send out cement hands Wtson and all he does is drop balls. I think David Thomas has only dropped one ball that's been thrown to him since he's been here. He needs more opportunities. I'm hoping bringing Baker in will help out in the blocking department and that will allow my boy to go out and do what he does best... catch balls! Go David!

Wheatley and Woods

Think Woods esp may come good this season .. BB obv. loves the guy which says a lot

Plus Guyton in his second year ...

Here's a weird one : Eric "I only start in crucial AFC Championship Games" Alexander ! BB obviously has a huge man-crush on him and he sticks around even after missing the previous year.

He might become the next Izzo (which may lead to the question : do we need a new Izzo ?).

On offense, Brady did nothing last year. You never heard his # called...even in the playoffs. He's my darkhorse. Plus, no one notices him and the press pretty much ignores him. Plus, I think QB is a pretty important position.

You're not kidding! Were you a Ken Walter fan, by any chance? :D
