Anyone worried about Ty Warren's 3 operations this offseason?

He says he will be fine but I do have concerns about him with all those groin problems and the knee

I hope we can address the DE position somewhere in the draft or if we sign J. Taylor it could temporarily help,not to mention Jarvis Green and Wright on board to sub if needed.

Warren's lackluster 2008 campaign was in part affected by his groin and knee problems - I hope he is back to near 100%,we need him back to his old self.

In addition to two groin surgeries, Patriots DE Ty Warren revealed Thursday that he underwent an arthroscopic knee operation after the season.
He "thinks" he'll be ready by training camp in late July, but will play it by ear.

I hope hes healing up good and ready for a great 2009 season can't wait!

I don't consider Warren's 2008 to be lackluster. The Pat's D certainly didn't look the same when he was out. Warren is a GREAT player, including last year. He doesn't record many tackles because nobody runs at him.

In his 6 years in the league,Warren's 2008 season was the worst of them among missing some games as well as nursing injuries much of the year.

I am not sure what games you were watching but it was obvious that Warren was not himself all year long - If Seymour had not risen up in improvement with his 8 sacks and stronger presence during the year,the front 3 could have had more problems than they did.

If Robert Ayers is still around at #34 (if NE does not trade it downwards) he will be a New England Patriot ..... Period

But I think Indy or Pittsburgh may take a good look at this guy late in round 1

We WILL draft players on the offensive line as backups and future potential starters. The question is value at various places in the draft. I like Britton, Wood and Unger. I would be fine with any of them as Day One picks. However, there should be potential 2010 starters available at 89, 97 and even 124. I would note that all these picks were earlier than where Koppen was pick (he was expected to start).

I wouldnt be dissappointed if they drafted Hood or Gilbert with 23/34. Actually... I think i'd prefer it.

Thank you. I agree with you on this. We have picks this year to do it. Throw a LB in there and we are set.
Look at the good teams every year and they have solid lines.

I watched every game. He may a struggle a bit here and there, but that is a far cry from lack luster. Ty has been a beast every time I've seen him on the field, and teams avoiding running to his side for much of the year. His absences were felt keenly by the defenese.

Well that would be under the assumption that Seymour will leave, right?
It would be foolish to draft a DE in round 1 or 2 if we are locking up both Warren and Seymour. There are many positions we can draft guy to play, rather than to sit.

Jarvis Green has always been paid starter money. He is likely to be gone after the season. Your plan seems to be to wait until next year, ignoring the fact that it takes a year to learn the position.

It might be an unpopular position on this board, but I really want to see Seymour retire a Patriot. After Brady, he's probably my second favorite player.

While I don't presume, I do expect Seymour to want to go. I wouldn't even expect him to play if he were franchised. We'd have yet another franchise and trade scenario. If Seymour wants to stay, I think belichick will find a way, but Seymour will NOT be the highest paid DL in football. That honor will go to Wilfork.

I wouldn't have any problem at all with Jarvis Green being cut. I agree that if Seymour wants to leave, he's gone. He'll have no shortage of teams willing to pay him more than the Pats will be willing to. I'm not in denial or anything- just bums me out that he's probably on his way out with the Pats. After Brady, he's probably the next guy that I associate most with the 3 SBs, even ahead of Bruschi.
