NFP has their latest top 100 list out. Some interesting picks:

11 - Sean Smith, CB/FS: "Exhibits impressive body control and footwork for a man his size; has the versatility to play corner and safety at the next level." The highest I have seen anyone rank Smith.

12 - Robert Ayers, DE: "As NFL ready as any prospect in the draft."

17 - Jarron Gilbert, DE/DT: "Has the strength, burst and length to play all over the defensive line." Quite high for Gilbert (compare to #58 for NFLdraftscout).

19 - Brian Orapko, DE: "A physically gifted defensive end, but he doesn’t play as strong as his weight-room numbers indicate." Lower than most have Orapko.

20 - Alphonso Smith, CB: "Plays with great balance and always puts himself in position to make plays." This seems high for Smith right now.

25 - Tyson Jackson, DE: "Has the power and length to make a seamless transition to the five-technique defensive end position."

26 - Connor Barwin, DE/OLB/TE: "It’s scary to think how good this kid could be if he specialized at one position."

27 - Clay Matthews, OLB: "Displays the athleticism and fluidity to play three downs in the NFL."

28 - William Beatty, OT: "A graceful left tackle who displays good length and hand placement on the outside."

29 - Rey Maualuga, ILB: "Did a nice job at his pro day, running in the 4.7 range and showcasing better than anticipated athleticism."

35 - Darius Butler, CB: "Isn’t afraid to stick his head in vs. the run and displays natural cover skills."

42 - Larry English, OLB: "Looks like a pass-rushing 3-4 OLB to me." I tend to disagree and see him more as a DE.

52 - William Moore, S: "Finally looks to be regaining his junior form after an injury-plagued senior season."

55 - Donald Brown, RB: "Needs to become more patient but displays impressive power and burst between the tackles." This seems low for Brown.

65 - Chip Vaughn, SS: "Displays an impressive frame and has the range and physicality to develop into a starter."

67 - Josh Freeman, QB: "Exhibits a rare skill set for the position but needs considerable time to develop."

78 - Clint Sintim, OLB: "A pass-rushing OLB who is ready to contribute from day one."

79 - Patrick Chung, SS: "Relies on his instincts and savvy rather than his pure athleticism." Seems a bit low.

100 - Louis Delmas, FS: "A bit overrated because of a weak safety class, but the physical tools are there." Low compared to others.

It's interesting to compare Bunting's list with Gil Brandt's recent rankings and NFLdraftscout's rankings.

56 - Eric Wood, C: "A physical center who loves to maul defenders in the run game."

On Path to the Draft tonight Charley Casserley said he really likes Barwin but wouldn't take him before the second round and considers him a third round player right now. Much as Mayock said yesterday. So did Scott Wright on his lengthy chat at nfldraftcountdown this afternooon. Scott also said he thought Gilbert was more likely to go in the 3rd round than the 1st and thinks he's a second rounder.

Here's a link to his chat :

Draft Countdown - Ask Scott (4/8/09)

I wish Lombardi did their draft work rather than Bunting. I think he's a bit closer to the NFL front office mindset.

Did you here mayock on Ayers?

Did you here mayock on Ayers?
Yeah - said he'll be the best defensive player in this draft. And he said he feels real good about the prediction.
