THREE GOOD MEN
Brown
Gilbert
Moore

Day Two would then be the time for the backup interior lineman, OT and ILB.

Very Happy!!!:D:D:D...we are talking about Everette Brown right?

Yes, this is the companion to the poll on Everette Brown. We should be able to trade for him if we really want him. The cost of Brown would be two Day One draft choices.

I would think Brown, Gilbert and Moore would be serious re-load for the defense.

You are probably higher on Brown than I am, but if you are jumping up in the 1st why not grab Tyson Jackson? Legit 3-4 DEs are hard to come by and Jackson is probably the only elite one in this draft class. The difference between Jackson and Gilbert is much wider IMO than the difference between Brown and a slew of rush DE/OLB candidates...including he-who-shall-not-be-named AKA Thread Killer.

I actually like Moore as the top safety in this class so would be happy scooping him up in round 2. So my choice would be:

Tyson Jackson
<insert 3-4 OLB here>
Moore

But the strategy to get a DE (c-ya Jarvis), OLB and safety on Saturday sounds mighty solid to me.

Don't the Pats have 4 picks on Day 1?

That's a pretty good draft.

There are several considerations.

First, there is the issue your address. Is Jackson that much better than Gilbert or Hood?

Second, how much could Brown add this year?

And third, how much is the difference between Brown and the others.
==========
If Belichick judges that either Jackson or Brown is head a shoulder above the others, then I think that we should trade up. If not, we can wait.

But I agree with your analysis. We should move up for one if the value is there.

The presumption is that there are two studs that we might want to trade up for: Jackson and Brown. For this proposal, I have presumed a trade of two picks to move up for Brown, and then drafted Gilbert and Moore. An alternative is to trade up for Jackson, pick a linebacker and Moore.
