I don't have access so I only have this much:

Hmm...so the Pats are heavily scouting day-2 QBs, and haven't signed any vets to compete for the back-up spot. To me, that looks like the tea leaves are swirling in a positive way regarding Mr. O'Connell's progress. Am I wrong?

It's totally clear - O'Connell is going to Denver to replace Cutler and we'll go with Brady, veteran and draft pick

McGee is an athletic quarterback who has the skills to become a quality NFL starter. He has prototypical size, excellent speed and good arm strength. He throws with precision on intermediate routes, but lacks touch on deep throws. He has good footwork and buys time in the pocket with his mobility. He’s a threat to run with the ball and displays great toughness. He has to work on his mechanics.

I was interested in him after seeing his combine numbers, seems like hes got a lot of raw talent possibly a late round prospect with a lot of upside.

Considering the success the Pats have had w 6th and 7th round QB picks this decade, I'd say it can't hurt to draft another QB. My only thing is that the roster is tight enough as it is. Ideally I'd carry just Brady, O'C and have a shadow roster vet on standby, or someone on the practice squad. Or draft a "slash" type QB who can fill other spots on the roster.

Basically I'm saying allocating 3 spots of the 53 man roster to 3 QBs seems like a luxury this stacked roster might not be able to afford. But, I've had them drafting a late QB in my mocks anyway.

Wait a second...a big, strong-armed, athletic kid who runs a 4.61 and has great leadership skills but is extremely raw and needs a complete overhaul of his mechanics? He IS Kevin O'Connell!

My Aggie buddy here at work keeps telling me that McGee was ranked close to, if not above (depending on the person), Colt McCoy coming out of high school but that the Aggies offense messed him but by being far different than a pro style offense. Not being an avid college football fan that attracted my attention and McGee was quite impressive at the combine.

When you think that we have O'Connell and Guit behind Brady, I think it makes a ton of sense for BB to keep the QB's coming, although I consider Mcgee a quasi RB/HB.

I posted this on NFP 2/6, really like this kid:

Stephen McGee from Texas A&M is my sleeper pick. Coming out of high school McGee was a big time passing QB. When he went to A&M he had to play in an option offense for his first 3 yrs under Franchione. When Sherman took over he had the chance to thrive in a pro-style O but he had a lingering shoulder injury and only started 3 games. The kid is tough, has a great attitude but simply had some bad luck at A&M. McGee has size, zip and accuracy on his passes and mobility as well. I believe he will end up being a solid late round pick and could come off the board in the middle rounds because of this year’s weak QB class. If he ends up in the right situation, like New England, and stays healthy I see this kid being successful on the next level.

I don't know the kid but considering there may only 4-5 spots left to fill on this team then taking a developmental QB would be a productive way to use a mid/late round pick that would otherwise amount to a tryout for the Browns or the Donkeys.

Any time you hear of a guy who's a leader, productive, and has good size but isn't 'athletic' and didn't quite wow them at the college level, can you help but think of our main man Tom Brady?

And stopping calling McDaniels, "Josh." OK? He's the enemy now and like a divorced in-law is no longer on a first name basis.
