This from Walterfootball.com:

For the Pats:

23 - Rey Maualuga, ILB (with Beatty gone I have no problem with this pick)
34 - Connor Barwin, OLB
47 - William Moore, SS (Louis Delmas going at #50)
58 - Gerald Cadogan, OT (but see who is still available below)
89 - Andy Levitre, OG
97 - Brandon Gibson, WR
124 - Shawn Nelson, TE

Pretty darn nice. I would take Delmas over Moore, but can't really argue the pick. The only real "reach" I see is Gerald Cadogan at #58, especially with Jarron Gilbert going #64 to Pittsburgh. Maualuga/Barwin/Delmas/Gilbert would be a dream 1st day. Levitre and Nelson are great value picks, though I may prefer Trevor Canfield or T.J. Lang over Levitre, and I prefer Mike Wallace (going #103) over Brandon Gibson (though Gibson's a solid pick).

Some other notable picks:

7 - Michael Johnson, DE - this seems likely the only really big reach in the 1st round. I doubt it will happen, but with Al Davis, who knows?
12 - Tyson Jackson, DE
14 - Malcolm Jenkins, CB/S
15 - Clay Matthews, LB
17 - Chris Wells, RB
18 - Larry English, DE
19 - Josh Freeman, QB
20 - William Beatty, OT
21 - Robert Ayers, DE - I could see this, as Philly loves DEs
22 - Eben Britton, OT
24 - Brandon Pettigrew, TE
25 - Vontae Davis, CB
26 - Jeremy Maclin, WR - seems very low to me
28 - Alex Mack, OG/C
29 - Brian Cushing, LB
30 - Darius Butler, CB
31 - Knowshon Moreno, RB
32 - Sean Smith, CB/S
35 - James Laurinaitis, ILB
37 - Patrick Chung, S
38 - Eric Wood, OG/C
39 - Percy Harvin, WR - seems very low to me
40 - Darius Heyward-Bey, WR - seems very low to me
41 - Jamon Meredith, OT/G
43 - Clint Sintim, LB
44 - Brian Robiskie, WR - seems a stretch with Nicks still available; I see them going with Max Unger here as Mack and Wood are gone
46 - Max Unger, OG/C
49 - Hakeem Nicks, WR - seems very low to me
50 - Louis Delmas, S
51 - Pat White, QB/WR
54 - Alphonso Smith, CB - seems very low to me
55 - DJ Moore, CB - seems very low to me
60 - LeSean McCoy, RB
64 - Jarron Gilbert, DE
65 - James Casey, TE
67 - Chris Baker, DT
73 - Sammie Lee Hill, DT
79 - Sherrod Martin, CB/S
90 - Dorell Scott, DT (I agree with them that the potential 3-4 DTs will go early)
96 - T.J. Lang, OT/G
100 - Trevor Canfield, OG
111 - Jasper Brinkley, ILB
114 - Jason Phillips, ILB
117 - David Bruton, S

I actually think it's a pretty decent 4 round mock. They have a lot of the WRs going later than I think they will go, and Alphonso Smith/DJ Moore falling a bit, but most of their picks are pretty reasonable. I wouldn't be at all unhappy with that draft, particularly with the modifications mentioned.

I tend to agree with you Mayo. Two issues on the Walter picks. Matt Stafford. I cannot see a QB as there #1 pick. There are too many ghosts in the closet from Joey Harrington. They need more than a QB to right that ship and a "franchise" QB does nor seem to fit Stafford. He had one of the best teams in the nation and some very mediocre starts. His long ball is just o.k. The big issue is he has not distanced himself from Sanchez and that should be a big red flag. He is also shorter than advertised which is not that big of a deal.
If I am the GM of the Lions, I go OT or at the worst Curry. I trade back into the first or maybe take a QB at #20 like a Freeman. I think I use the Bronws model rather than the Falcons. Remember the Falcons got a big time FA signing with RB Turner. That took some pressure off of Ryan. In college, Ryan took a mid pack B.C. team and made it better, where as mentioned, Stafford started with one of the best teams in the NCAA at Georgia and did o.k..

I would rather see Collie WR at #97. Bigger faster and can return kicks.

I'd rather have Stafford and Beatty, than Smith and Freeman. There's a pretty good chance to get Beatty, Oher or Britton at #20 - a better chance than Freeman stil being available, i think. That said, Smith at #1 and the third round pick for Anderson might be a better way to go. Or packaging 20 & 33 to move up to get Stafford/Sanchez.

2 LB's a SS and 2 more OL...WOW Any OT you think is better is fine.
Great draft if it happens.

I'd rather have Aaron Kelly over Gibson at WR.

One of the better mocks for the Pats I've read yet. Throwing in Levitre and Cadogen I love. First 3 picks are rock solid stone. If Belichick takes Moore over Delmas I wouldn't be too unhappy because he knows ****loads more than me about safeties.

Here is a more realistic version than Kirwan's mock. I like this -I believe this is closer to reality. I would agree that if Barwin is on board at 34 Pat;s have a big decision to pick him or trade 34 for 2010 value.

On paper, it's a great mock draft. However, unless Rey Maualuga has a great pro day, he will drop into the second round. Nobody is going to draft a MLB in the first round that runs a 4.8-4.9 40 time. I think the Pats would take Cushing over Malaluga in the first round.

I've never seen Barwin play, but he sure seems like just another "workout warrior".

I was surprised to see Clay Matthews going as high as 15 to the Texans. I watched every USC game and this guy seems like the next Bobby Carpenter to me. Matthews was mostly a special teams guy who played spot duty late in his career with USC. I don't understand the hype around this guy.

That's a refreshing perspective, and what makes this all fun - there's no two identical takes. For me, I want no part of Cushing, but perhaps you've seen something I haven't. I kind of agree with you about Maualuga and Matthews.

Does anyone remember how hyped the board got over Zack DeOssie in 2007? A big, athletic, smart kid from Brown with great "bloodlines"? Some people got so carried away as to tout him as a potential late 1st/2nd round pick, and BB was said to be enamored of him. He went 4th round to the G-men and hasn't set the world on fire so far.

Good 40 time or no, I'd take Maualuga at 23. he's shown he can take on blocks, avoid them in his flow to the run, and take on RBs in the flat.

If he falls to 23, it seems to set up a draft like this one, which would be crazy-productive. :woohoo:

Has he indeed? He's rather inconsistent then since he never revealed that talent in any game I ever saw.

Thats a great draft except for Maualuga, completely lacks the speed necessary to play at the next level unless he drops his 40 time into the low 4.6's.

Maualuga will be one of nastiest tacklers in the league in 2 years. He just has the it factor as a power run stopper. I know he is not as fast as Mayo-but he would serve a different role. The old Ted Johnson role. We have never recovered since losing that thick- hitting short yardage stuffer. Go back to the games where Johnson used to stuff Bettis on 4th and ones. Maulauga can be that presence in this system. If available at 23-you have to consider this pick.
