I do find it very interesting that of all the players at UConn (Butler, Brown, Beatty), he was seemingly very interested in the QB.

Might we go QB again late on? 5th round maybe?

I think BB wanted to see the kid work out at safety.

BB spent a lot of time yesterday with the DB's. Something caught his eye.

Perhaps D.B. of the DB's? :singing:

could UCONN be BB's binky school this year?

He has a history of drafting multiple players from the same school:
2001: Notre Dame
2002: LSU
2003: Texas A&M
2005: Fresno State (extra credit: UNLV)
2006: Florida
2007: Miami
2009: UCONN???

Any 40 time on him from yesterday? Reps?

Aside from the late round gems, binkies and QB conversions the comment that caught my eye was from Charlie 'bad hair day' Casserly. He mentions that Butler would be a good fit in an 'off' coverage scheme, the Pats play a lot of off coverage. Butler looks to be a good fit in the smallish type player the Pats like a CB (Samuels, Hobbs, Poole, etc.)

I'm expecting a late round/UDFA QB, that's pretty standard. I do find it interesting that NE has looked at two 'left-handed' Big East high mobility QBs in this draft for transition roles:
- Pat White, West Virginia, was asked to workout as a WR.
- Jared Lorenzin, UConn, was asked to workout as a S.

Tyler Lorenzen. Jared Lorenzen is a tub o' goo. ;)

Well, the fact that he was watching the DBs means he noticed the CB with the 43" vertical and some of the best feet in the draft. He may have also recognized the DE/OLB the Pats just worked out. Those are two highly rated Pats prospects by some here :))), which I'm sure was the primary reason for his visit.

There is no way imaginable that Lorenzen was looked at as a QB. He should not have been playing QB in college, for that matter. Ask yourselves how a college team with this many NFL prospects somehow managed to lose 4 games last year, and you'll find one answer: QB, and no passing game.

That being said, Lorenzen is a really big guy, 6-5 and 230 pounds, and he is deceptively fast out there, much more of a threat with his legs. He could be a good athlete, but... he hasn't practiced tackling anyone in many years.

He seems like a TE to me. Safety seems to be a stretch.

Cody mentions the naughty "name."
