On trading for Eagles WR Greg Lewis.
"Lewis has always killed us. He's a good route runner and he's good with the ball in his hands. He's a smart kid who can play a lot of different [receiver] positions."

On not being afraid to sign older players.
"You know what you're getting when it comes to the level of commitment of those players. They know their time is somewhat limited so you usually get a player's best shot at that point in their careers."

"Lewis has always killed us," said Belichick, referring to the wideout's gaudy statistics (eight catches for 141 yards and three touchdowns) in his past two games against New England. "He's a good route runner and he's good with the ball in his hands. He's a smart kid who can play a lot of different [receiver] positions."

Hah this brings back memories of the Welker trade, I remember BB saying something along those lines about Welker and having to be doubled. Neato

Re: Bill on Foxsports

Hahaha, if Lewis becomes really good with the Pats, the Eagles should just give up.

Can't they just give up anyway? :D

Re: Bill on Foxsports

The Eagles don't give up.

McNabb just throws up.

I hope Lewis goes like 60 balls/1000-1100 yards 6-10 TD's.

However, that would not stop BSPN and the punturds on NFLN (Jamie Dukes/Marshall Faulk) from crying that Donovan has zero weapons.

I agree, but even if he overachieves, he's not getting those numbers unless Moss or Welker go down for some games. Honestly, if he could catch 20-25 balls for 300-400 yards, and a couple TDs, that would be great from a #4 WR.

Re: Bill on Foxsports

Sic

Let's hope Lewis succeeds and then talks about how great it is to work with a real QB.

I have never understood how year after year, McNabb cries about "lack of weapons" and none of the offensive players don't crack his ^&*#.

Maybe TO was correct about him.

Re: Bill on Foxsports

Ha!...yeah, I recall their 2 minute (*cough* 6 minute) drive to end the superbowl....

losers.

McNabb always thought he had Time To Burn.

Someone told me I would never be free
The way you are is way you'll always be
But it's all wrong
There's Time To Burn

Damn, this guy is on more tv shows than Obama, BB media whore.. who would of thunk it.

Nice Alex Marvez article on BB

This yesterday from Foxsports.com:

Nothing terribly earth-shattering, but a nice read. BB says some nice things about Greg Lewis:

"Lewis has always killed us," said Belichick, referring to the wideout's gaudy statistics (eight catches for 141 yards and three touchdowns) in his past two games against New England. "He's a good route runner and he's good with the ball in his hands. He's a smart kid who can play a lot of different [receiver] positions."

Been covered.

Still, that Lewis comment certainly had a flash Welker to it. I can't imagine the guy being the same kind of threat, but trying to project guys in this system is tough. If he's got good hands and runs really good routes, Brady could certainly get him the ball a bunch. And if he can stretch the field like they say, a 4-wide set would be pretty scary stuff. Blitzing would be the only way to cover it. Ugh...
