Carl Carey, who represents Peppers, indicated earlier tonight he had not yet been contacted by Patriots coach Bill Belichick, or any other member of the organization.

He claimed several other teams have reached out to him to gauge Peppers interest, get a feel for his salary expectations, and offer how they planned on using him in their defense.

Just not the Patriots.

"No, they haven’t been in touch," Carey said of the Patriots, but we have had preliminary discussions with GMs from other clubs in the league.

You know NE may have kicked the tires or more than kicked the tires. But, it's the agent's job to create a marketplace for his/hers client. That is where I believe the truth lies with this story.

And after all the patsfans histrionics, Peppers agent cuts to the chase which is he's looking for offers but absent something that knocks their socks off from a team that can apparently include anyone willing to talk to them and not just the teams Julius reportedly mentioned or 3-4 teams, Julius will be just fine playing under his tag...

Well, it wouldn't be the first time an agent has lied about not talking to the Patriots either. The Pats like everyone they talk to to deny, deny, deny. But then again, it is probably that there has been no contact.

Hahaha, well, Vic said that the reason he reported the story was based on the fact that there were discussions with the agent. He seemed quite sure.

Also, Belichick wouldn't be a liar in this case. He didn't say he didn't talk to the agent. He just said he hasn't talked to the Panthers about it.

There’s no trade talks going on with Carolina. They don’t have a signed contract. They can’t talk about trading a player that isn’t signed.

If Carucci is accurate, then the only one lying is Peppers' agent.
