Heard this on Sirius NFL Radio today

I could see the Jets giving up thier #17 and maybe even a low round pick or one low one next year for the rights to Cutler

Would probably be a good move since Cutler has proven NFL experience while drafting Sanchez at #17 is a blind pick especially at the most important position on the team.

I think Cutler drastically improves the Jets chances to be a VERY competitive team in this division considering they already are presumingly loaded on defense.

This is only a supposed rumor right now but it makes sense for both teams.

They'd have to pay him; how are they situated under that cap? The Ryans love to spend on Defense and skimp on offense.

Not really he still has three years left under his contract. They would probably have to give up more than 1 first rounder though. might have to part with two.

It isn't even a supposed rumor. It is supposition. That means someone made it up.

Cutler has never impressed me, and I don't mind if he goes to the Jets. He will be like Favre for them, make some great plays, look good on ESPN highlights, and not the the job done where it counts, in the win column.

Cutler is a whiny b****.

I wish him on New York.

He'll fit right in.

I don't deny his talent any more than I deny TO's*, but he doesn't appreciate or take seriously the opportunity the QB a team in the NFL.

*[OK, I do deny his talent more than TO's. My point is that they both have talent, and they are both whiny b****es that should stay the hell away from any team I root for and, ideally, play for the Jets.]

I hope they don't give in to whiny Cutler. It would be stupid to trade him and get only a rookie QB in return. Besides #17 does not guarantee you Sanchez.

I watch this guy most every week, and invariably, by the end of the game he leaves me shaking my head in disbelief/disgust.

He is one of the worst decision makers at that position I have ever seen. March up and down the field all day long, at will, and as soon as the end zone comes in sight, it seems Mr. Hyde appears. Something just goes wrong up there.

Is it fixable? Maybe. Maybe not. But as has been noted before, Cutler's next winning season will be his first.

This is Mike Shanahan's boy, and given how well the man drafted in the previous 5 years before his canning, you can take that for what it's worth.

Sure, some one will vastly overpay him. PT Barnum would have loved this league today.

Keep him out of a Patriot's uniform, please....

I'd much rather have the Jets continue "as is" with no QB.

No matter who the Jets pick up they will still SUCK!!

Heh. I hope he gets sent to Detroit. They deserve each other ;)

The Jets and Cutler are a perfect pair. Both can't win. Who had the bigger collapse at the end of the year?

I would expect the Bucs or Lions to get involved. They have a more cap friendly situation and have more to offer.

It makes sense for Denver to not trade Cutler as there is no QB at #17 or on their roster who is worth a damn. On top of that they are still denying that they contacted anyone about trading him so Cutler is just looking like an a-hole in this situation.

Now as far as the Jets go, I dont know how they did it, but they have $12 million in cap space right now which is plenty enough to sign a good QB and have room for rookies. Really the only team now with 2 good QBs is Cleveland, but there's some history there.

If Denver is smart, they could take the Jets for QB Clemens, the Jets first round pick and a conditional 2010 pick, just in case Cutler does have a great year. Denver can still take Sanchez at #12.

The Jets have no leverage in this deal, when you send people to work out KSU QB Freeman, you are announcing to the world that you are desperate.

agreed, this is a curious move from McD... wonder what he's thinking, or if it's just one of those personal things that escalated in a hurry.

remember when Josh signed with denver, & most said "great move, he's poised for future success with Cutlets as his QB"? haha

You had to assume that after making all of those bolstering moves on D that they surely were going after a decent qb

At least that was my answer to everyone's "Jets are gonna suck, they don't even have a QB" threads

As much as I hate them, I hardly think they're that dumb--to set themselves up for a run without addressing the QB issue. Doesn't surprise me at all

OMG, that is too funny. As much as Cutler is whining now, and moping around about his feelings, how is he going to handle NY, its media and fans.......Big time meltdown waiting to happen.....

Cutler would be a great move for the Jets.. He's better than whats out there and can throw the deep ball. The Meadowlands wind won't be an issue for him..

ATTN: If this ever happened the Jets would improve dramatically.

This isn't some funny "Haha, the Jets are singing a 38 year old QB!" (who happened to keep us out of the playoffs) it's "The Jets are signing a 25 year old pro-bowl quarterback coming off a 4,500+ yard season"

They would have a reloaded defense, along with last season's #1 QB + RB in the AFC, in terms of yards.

Anyone who hopes he ends up with the Jets is delusional.
