OK....he didn't say it ....but you know that's how he's thinking. After Jason Taylor signs, his starting roster is complete, infused with a bunch of hungry veterans that know New England is their best chance to get that ring and validate their careers. The draft will be for depth with an eye for the future. Hell, BB may trade off a couple of seconds just because that's what he does best, generating future picks in higher rounds. The beauty of this offseason (especially if Jason Taylor signs) is that the "Patriot Way" has become such a drawing power....thee Football Mecca for committed, serious players. Hats off to BB, Kraft, and the organization for attaining such credibility, where perception is reality.

19-0 ? are you talking about its 18-0 that the Pats will be in 2009 -2010.

Because he signed a 37-year-old receiver and a few guys that were released from other teams?

I don't think people appreciate just how miraculously difficult it is/was to go 18-1. I hope you're right, but we could've signed Torry Holt and Julius Peppers and 17-2 would be an incredible season. 19-0 is RIDICULOUSLY hard.

19-0 is VERY hard to do!! I would love to see New England go 19-0, but lets wake up. I see a 17-2 16-3 record with a superbowl win :D

I think its more because he seems to have reloaded this team with some very low risk/high reward talent, and done it quickly and rather inexpensively.

And thats not even accounting for the ridiculous amount of high draft picks.:singing:

Plus, being cut doesn't mean that a player isn't any good.

Is this offseason that very different from other offseasons?

I seem to be my requisite, angry, confused, and excited.

All of a sudden, I start to worry about too high of expectations. Let's see how Tommy looks before we start engraving number XLIV.

This is the year 19-0

Offense looks sick and biggest problem on de has been addresses and Brady is back

Its offseason in NE. Every young player will improve, and every older player will approximate his historical peak. I can't wait till he drafts a few QB eaters.

God the kool-aid runs thick around here sometimes. We haven't even seen our gimpy quarterback toss a single prolate spheroid yet. :D

Say what you want, I know you'd test over the limit on the stuff too. ;)

I don't care what you say, we're going back to the playoffs... Heck, we might even knock the Dolphins off the top spot!

(Remember when that was something we had to seriously say???)

I cut mine with gin... keeps me sane. I'm optimistic as hell, but I'm not gonna run around squealing 19 and 0, 19 and 0 baby!! :p

Still have some concerns on defense here.

I think we need to temper our expectations. I wouldn't be surprised if Brady follows the Manning of 2008 route and isn't really Tom Brady until week 8 or 9. In that time frame, while the D gels and the rookies find their place, it's likely we lose at least a couple games, if not more.

I'll make a prediction though (without looking at the schedule because I'm too lazy :D). If we start the season 8-0, we're going to run the table.

Brady will play some real minutes in the exhibition games.

This may be New England's best crop of free agents since 2001. I love the mix of vets they have added to their core players this year. And we also STILL have 4 1st day draft picks to add to the mix. This 2009 team could be really special.

When you do end up looking at the schedule, you'll see quite a challenge coming up. I'd be real happy to go 4-2 in the division (losing at least one division game on the road)--when you look at the other 10 teams left

Indy,Tennessee,Denver,Baltimore,New Orleans,Tampa Bay,Jacksonville,Carolina,Atlanta, and an improved Houston team

I'd be real happy to win 7 out of those 10--that leaves us at yep, 11-5

Maybe we go 8 outta those 10, (would be quite impressive) that still leaves us at 12-4. I'm very, very hopeful, and feeling good about free agency and the draft, but far far away from thinking anything about a perfect season. I'm glad we can continue to compete, and have a shot at having a good stretch run, and going to the playoffs as a possibility

Video to follow. In light of the February speculation in the media, Brady sounds to have been chucking the pigskin since December, maybe even October. You can now justifiably put your fears to bed and join the crowd of outrageously optimistic here at PatsFans.

Of course, there was likely similar revelry in the signing of Fernando Bryant last year, but this new cast is built to survive pre-season.:)

I for one will happily embrace 15-4 with the Pats hoisting the Lombardi. The Fish can have their perfect season to wash down the bitter pill of all those title-less seasons.
