Comp picks estimate just posted by Adamjt13

Because, Turner's contract actually only averages 5.75 million. And, while he had a great year, that only accounts for a small part of the equation. AdamJT13 has done an outstanding job year after year missing only 1-2 picks which are usually picks that are borderline.

Again I'm not arguing with his projection. I'm questioning the NFL's process.

Re: AdamJT13's comp pick 2009 projection: 3, 5, 6

Please Rob, If you do go, when the Jets losers booo as the Pats pick, could you hit the nearest one as hard as humanly possible?

or put up a sign right before the pick that says "boooo if you are mad at the Jets QB situation"

Just for everyone's information, I had to update a few comp picks. The Cardinals actually had TWO defensive linemen named Bryan Robinson on their roster last year during training camp. One of them was cut at the end of training camp, and I incorrectly disqualified the UFA they signed from Cincinnati (when I did my comp picks research a few weeks ago, I didn't even know there were two guys with the same name at the same position on the same team).

Anyhow, the new projections are up at adamjt13.blogspot.com. The Patriots' picks were not affected.

Here is the list now --

THIRD ROUND
New England (Asante Samuel, $9.3567 million per season, 15 GP/15 GS, Pro Bowl)

A 3rd, 5th, and 6th huh? Well that replaces the pick we gave up for Greg Lewis and that end of 3rd comp pick could net a pretty decent player as well. Not bad. Maybe the dream of drafting a punter on day 2 is not over yet. ;)

Guyton and Redd would also disagree.

Wouldn't Troy Brown disagree as well?

I completely disagree. The Patriots have shown time and time again that they are willing to give every player a chance, and not just default to the "name" players or veterans. As others mentioned look at guyton, redd, cassel, brady, etc etc. If the player is GOOD they will make the team period.

Re: AdamJT13's comp pick 2009 projection: 3, 5, 6

This might be the year to make a trip to New York for the draft. Six picks in the first three rounds is a great position to be in. The Pats have a lot of flexibility. I would not be surprised to see the Pats turn the Chiefs 2nd round pick into a 2010 1st round pick of a team that picks late 1st round this year. Well I guess There isn't much that would surprise me actually the possibilities are endless.

That's not a bad idea, actually. I've always wanted to ride the Fung Wah bus to NYC for $10.

Is it at the Javitz Center? Music City? do you need tickets?

To respond to my own post, the draft will be at Radio City Music hall this year. I still haven't figured out how to get tickets. The Fung Wah bus is now $15, not ten.

They dont sell tickets. You have to go and line up to get in, the tickets are free. I've been looking into it myself and I've seen people say that they've started lininig up as early as the night before although this year has a later start time (3 or 4 pm) so you would probably have to line up at around 8 in the morning.

Awesome. Thanks. I was going to go for the second day only. My son is in taking his vacation with me here in Boston and he loves the second day the most.
