It's only a one year deal, so I'm not sure people should be looking for much here.
I think Springs will play CB not S, and I don't think they signed these guys with the idea of starting the same players who gave it up on third down all last year. There will be a different secondary.
Richardson was on IR in 2007, he started 2008 on the Practice Squad before being called up and seeing spot duty in relief of O'Neal and Hobbs, plus doing a solid job on STs.Mike Richardson should be coming back off IR...but I wouldn't count on him being too much of a factor, but who knows.
What should be interesting is if any of the kids accel in camp, if any of the veterans like Springs would get looks at helping out at Safety

Could Brady be the new Cassel in our offensive system?I don't know? Could Baker be the new Gonzalez in our offensive system??
I am going to pee my pants if this statement below is true!!
IS HOBBS NO LONGER A STARTER!!!!
I agree. Hobbs is still a starter IMO.
There's so much spread offense now that you're basically playing with three corners a lot anyway. Hobbs/Springs/Bodden/Wheatley/Wilhite is a pretty good group. I'd rather see them shore up the corner position first and then add some depth to the safety spot later. Maybe they'll sign Rodney and draft a safety high, in which case you'd much rather have Springs outside.

Yeah, thats my question: What does all this mean?
Does it mean they're not going to resign hobbs next year? Does it mean the kids are busts? Does it mean someone is getting turned into a safety? (Springs would be my guess).
