Please tell me Troy Brown won't be enjoying his retirement for three weeks.

/:(

Re: I miss Mike Reiss already.

someone get JSn another patriots blog quick!

Re: I miss Mike Reiss already.

Reiss is on vacation so no blog updates . . .

Mike's wife is either having or had their child (have not heard) - So all the best to Mike and his family.

That's a piss-poor excuse not to cough up articles for... oh.

haha, just kidding. Well congrats then Mike.

Well I calculated that much, but didn't see any link to that fact -- so I thought I'd ask. :)

Haha, exactly! We don't keep people on the Blogroster cuz they're pretty!

Re: I miss Mike Reiss already.

Gasper is the Chad Jackson of the Boston Globe

All the physical tools, but... haha.

Too bad, with the starter going down, this is his chance to shine. If he misses it, he'll be covering the UFL next year. Or WORSE... the CFL!!

Re: I miss Mike Reiss already.

Yes. Reiss is the only Boston or National NFL writer whose articles and postings consistently display each of the following, day-in and day-out:
(a) Knowledge of the NFL
(b) Insight into (including inside dish on) the Patriots
(c) Common Sense
(d) Honesty
(e) Excellent writing.

In an era when we have been insulted by the likes of Tomass and the Horald locally as well as by the likes of Schlereth and ESPN nationally, he is a constant, balanced presence neither jumping off the deep end over players who have disappointed us nor exaggerating the abilities of those whom we idolize.

If the reports are true that he and his wife have had a kid, then all I can say is that that child has picked a great guy to be his dad.

I say we sign the kid up for Pats Blogger of the future :D Signbabyreiss

Or even worse the now nonexisting European League ;) :scared:

Co-sign that! He sure is missed (and yep, Troy's still enjoying his retirement:D). If the baby story is indeed true, CONGRATS to Mike and his wife!

Re: I miss Mike Reiss already.

While we're waiting a week or so for the Patriots to make the

Springs' signing official, Reiss would fill us in on UFA visits.

Re: I miss Mike Reiss already.

I REALLY hope this isn't true - The 10 Major Newspapers That Will Either Fold or Go Digital Next - TIME
and if it is will it have any bearing on Reiss's position?
I would think that if or when that happens, Reiss would likely continue to do the same thing at boston.com; I would expect the online version of the paper to continue. If not, I would think somebody else in Boston would snag him, such as nesn or weei, and his column would continue online.
