Good thing BB decided to ink him.

"Springs has a long and relatively successful history playing against T.O., and he has spoken about how he is able to get Owens off his game by being physical with him at the line of scrimmage. Springs, formerly of Washington, held Owens to two first-half catches in the Redskins' 26-24 victory over Dallas last season."

I quite enjoyed that article. They also seem to imply, like everyone else, BB won't use all the picks this year (trade em for players or future picks). Head of the class, just like every year!

Love the Sig!!

Good work!!

I sure hope our defense Springs a trap on him :)

T.O. worked Springs for like four touchdowns in 2007, so they've had games go both ways.

I mean, T.O. is T.O., but I don't think there's too many corners out there that get T.O. off his game consistently by out-physical-ing him.

I hope that's true, but it might have more to do with the pressure on Romo from their O-Line and whatever scheme they used against him. But, either way - I like the Springs pick up.

This is a deep draft. Trading picks away for a future draft which may not be so deep could be a bad idea.

I could see BB trading them if he knew he'd get a pick a whole round ahead the next year.

Otherwise, why not keep them. This team's roster does not have as much depth as it used to. You can have extra guys make the roster at practically every position except DL and RB.

The problem with this thinking is that only 53 guys can make the team. Good players won't last on the p-squad.

We have a bunch of guys from last year who could break-through this year (and I assume Bill and co. have a solid bead on this).

If Crable, Wheatley, Wilhite and say Redd have had/are having monster off-seasons, they could ALL make the team (Redd being a longer shot if we bring in an FA like Taylor).

So while it's good to have quality depth, at some point you're going to end up losing guys when the picks they cost could have been moved forward (and upward) to next year's draft.

With CBA uncertainty and a lot of FA's coming due, I think having a good collection of picks for next year is wise.

Trading picks for sure-thing players (as much as that is possible) is also a decent idea. I would be very surprised if all of our day-one picks turn into draftees in 2009.

Me too.

I hope Springs ends up being TO's kryptonite but either way I like this signing. Also from the article:
Having to face Springs twice a season is hardly the only headache Owens might have to contend with in the AFC East. The Jets' acquisition of Sheppard adds to a secondary that already features young and talented cornerbacks Darrelle Revis, a Pro Bowler, and Dwight Lowery. Miami cornerback Will Allen plays behind an aggressive front that puts significant pressure on quarterbacks.

Git'cher popcorn :popcorn::popcorn:

Will Allen is terrible.

T.O.'s kryptonite is age... and himself.

ESPN still has Springs unsigned as of this morning. I'm sure

that it doesn't mean anything dire. The two parties may have

just finished up tweaking the contract.

Keep in mind-Lito Shephard, who OWNED TO as well, is in the AFCE too.

Hmm, so a week before T.O signed with an AFC east opponent, Bill B signs his "kryptonite".

This is the strongest proof yet that Bill is in fact a god. Now if he could have only used his omnipotence to forsee Berndard Pollard...
