Weirder stuff HAS happened... I wonder about the following :

*Does the money make sense ?
*Will he accept being in a rotation with Warren-Wilfork-Seymour-Green ?
*Or (as some would suggest, but I would find more unlikely) move to an OLB-DE hybrid that specializes in rushing the QB ?

I'm just not sure those would be a "go" ... but I anyone can make it work, BB would be the guy.

Keep in mind that Taylor was NFL Defensive player of the year as a linebacker in Saban's 3-4 which is essentially the same as Belichick's. If he has anything left in the tank, he is the perfect player for the Pats even if he is just in the 3rd down or long yardage packages.

Taylor plays OLB in the 3-4. He did have 17 1/2 sack in Miami when they employeed the 3-4 quite a bit his last year as a Dolphin. So he can play the position assuming age and lack of focus to the game are not an issue.

No he wouldn't accept a rotation with them, because that's not what he is good at......It would be a waste to both him and us to do that. If anything, he would come here and come in on plays that requite the OLB to rush the passer.

On a side note, Tommase is an idiot and not worth clicking on.

As soon as I clicked the link and saw Tomasse's face and realized it was an article written by him, I clicked out. I'm not reading anyone with that little journalistic integrity. How he still has a job with that paper is beyond me. It is shameful that he did not simply resign.

I agree. Count me in the group that has still a glimmer of hope for Peppers (but that is a different thread). IMO, if Taylor is signed it is highly unlikely that Peppers will be.

Thomas-Mayo-Guyton/Bruschi-Taylor would be our current set of linebackers with

I agree. Count me in the group that has still a glimmer of hope for Peppers (but that is a different thread). IMO, if Taylor is signed it is highly unlikely that Peppers will be.

While I'm with you on this one, I have accepted that this would be highly unlikely due to the enormous cost and multiple draft picks it would require.

I certainly wouldn't be disappointed in plan B (Jason Taylor) if they could get him here for a year or so on a cap friendly contract while grooming a high draft pick to replace him....

Peppers is a gamble in many respects becuase he's not played in a 3-4..changing positions is a lot harder and it may be way too costly for something not definite..I agree t Plan B may be better..although I also see it as something that wil happen later in the offseason.

JT for one year on short cash could be a nice stopgap. That is if BB believes that JT has more left in the tank than Vrabel did. JT already showed his ability to play OLB with the Dolphins.

I agree Jason Taylor on short cash would be a steal. Obviously its not a long term solution, but in the short term he could really help our defense. My guess is that we don't hear any news on this front till the summer. I have read that Taylor wants to spend the offseason with his family and doesn't plan to be around for any workouts.

I would definitely take a flyer on Taylor, providing the money is not ridiculous.
