You see..this is where the T.O. question looms large..and as I've said, I can't stand the SOB...BUT...short term, with the Bowl as the objective, I cannot see the downside. Only one team gives T.O. the immediate quick fix to rehabilitate his image. He says over and over he's a team player..yet he's a a PR pariah right now...what better quick fix is there out there? He takes 82 in deference to Moss...they all blah blah blah the media hype...AND, as far as starpower and what he doesn't have, there's only two other QB's in the league that can approach Tommy Boy...it's like I said in another thread...T.O. drops a ball, Brady is coming right back to him the next play. Single team Moss and T.O. gets to tell the media "man, you can't do that!!", making him even more of cog, because, as all defenses do, you double Moss, you leave the damndest WR in the open field one on one, one thing Owens has ALWAYS shown to be a major mismatch...AND to further rehabiltate his image, this isn't Romo and Whitten screwing him with the racist undertones...this is Wes freaking Welker benefiting from those crushing T.O. downfield blocks turning the short underneath routes into big gainers...add the underachieving Watson who you KNOW T.O. is gonna be all over because he needs some kind of whipping boy and what you have, for at least a season, is an offense of historical potential.
Don't think for a minute that BB wouldn't take a chance if it means winning it all...and don't think for aminute that T.o>, for asll hsi baggage, doesn't want that ring to cement his legacy..and a future on the NFL network or ESPN.Owens, for all his warts, IS box office..and his best chance to stay the center of attention is that ring and the rehab of his image that winning ALWAYS brings.
yeah...OK..maybe I'm pipe dreaming...but if it happened I'd sit abck and watch..the entertainment value is undeniable.
