Patriots re-sign Chris Hanson
Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff March 5, 2009 04:48 PM
The Patriots announced that they have re-signed punter Chris Hanson today.

Hanson joins Tom Malone on the roster at punter. He finished last season strong, delivering one of his finest performances in the wind-blown finale at Buffalo.

The Patriots also formally announced the signings of linebacker Eric Alexander (1-year deal) and safety James Sanders (3-year deal), and that they waived outside linebacker Darrell Robertson.

Cool, Chris is one of my favorite 53 players in the NFL, so I'm glad he stayed. :D

Before one particular play I may have said this is just an ok move but after that 50 yarder (45 yarder maybe) into the 50 mile an hour wind I think he has proven to us that he is really good punter.

We wont need a Punter next year ;)

But Hanson has shown some flashes of brilliance amongst his inconsistency. He'll do for now depending on what Malone does in TC.

This is good news, loved the special teams play last season, especially the punting! Awesome.

Patriots value versatility. He is a punter for the New England Patriots and fights the battle against child molesters on his show. ;)

All the Hanson haters :scream:

:singing: Anyway punting is for suckers we got Brady

now we don't need to use the 5th round pick we lost on a punter

Good sign-up. I think there were some intentional tb's against scary returners.

He did great in that game.... it was quite impressive. And the fact is that we weren't cursing his name throughout the season.

Is he the best punter in the league? Nope. But I don't mind this signing.

He had the lowest total return yards of any regular P in the NFL if I remember right. I agree, touchbacks and kicks out of bounds now seem to have been a coaching call in hindsight. BB does like his left footed Punters.

With Chris Hanson on board, we will be catching ALL the predators this season !

But, as previously mentionned, let's just gor for it on 4 and 12 on our own 24.
