FA safety Mike Adams to visit Patriots

I can appreciate your hunger for a bigger name DB bro, but every player we look at isn't necessary a starter, or our 'answer' to the DB problem. We need depth, special teams players, players to beat on and dump in camp, and special teams play too. Come on now, you have to be getting somewhat used to what it means to be a Pats fan when FA comes rolling around. Be patient;)

Chill... I am not in the "obsessed with 32 year old name brand players" kind of guy. In fact, I remember cheering quite a bit for a fine team that featured Earthwind Moreland !

Just keeping it light. Truth is I do not expect or even want a big splash. But a thread for this dude seems a bit much.

These threads are amusing. How many guys have looked like garbage when they left the Patriots? How many guys have BECOME stand-outs or rejuvenated their careers while with the Pats?

We thought Matt Cassel was garbage in pre-season and he now makes $14.6 mil for playing in 16 games this coming season!

I think we have to assume that FA is a value game. They won't sign crappy players on purpose, and they will take a shot at guys with weaknesses if they have strengths we can exploit.

Mike Adams might be STs, he might get cut in camp, and he might steal the starting role from someone. It's alright to make educated guesses, but keep in mind that you would require half of the football intellect in the stadium offices to be considered the top candidate for GM in half the league.

And stuff...

So what if he posted this!! The way i see this news is that the Patriots are active and trying to improve this team this offseason. Mike Adams might not even sign its just a visit! I feel comfortable the Patriots are interviewing to see who would best fit in out system.

The Pats will carry 9-10 DBs this year anyways. Mike Adams could make a decent 4th safety maybe? Dunno, but if the Pats wanted him to visit, there's obviously some interest on their part.

So much for that.

Browns re-signed S Mike Adams to a three-year, $4.1 million contract.

Adams' versatility and special teams work got him some interest from the Packers and Patriots, but he wasn't offered much to leave. Though he may end up starting if the club can't find a replacement for Sean Jones, Adams signed for backup money.
