Does this mean that we aren't getting him? :D

Ray Lewis-LB-Ravens Mar. 4 - 3:30 pm et

NFL.com's Adam Schefter reports that the Ravens will announce the re-signing of Ray Lewis by week's end.

Schefter says the announcement could come "in the next 24 hours." The Ravens' initial offer was $24 million over three years with $17 million guaranteed. It will be interesting to see Lewis gets anywhere close to that after playing his hand so poorly in free agency. Ray-Ray never even scheduled a visit.

And all that going back and forth for nothing!!:)

Gotta love free agency

Good. I love him on the field but thinking of him doing a complete personality180 seemed a little unnerving:eek: He's still a beast tho:D

Michael Holley at it again.. hehehe.. All Lewis was doing was trying to drive up the market.. he was never leaving Balt

Guess it worked, Ray got the Ravens to bid against themselves....can't really believe there really was a market out there for him.....

Sad, the Ravens are paying for past performance, but he is the face of their franchise, the first player taken by them in their first draft.......

And, WAHOO, he ain't coming here.........:D

Lewis probably has more value to the Ravens than anybody else. If he really demanded tons from NYJ then he's certifiably insane.

The Ravens even at their numbers are rewarding him more for past efforts than giving his value going forward. Belichick isn't about giving players from other teams contracts to reward them for previous years of service.

The deal is done. I knew because of the massive sigh of relief in Foxborough.
Now back to reality: Taylor or Bubba Ho-Tep?

Exactly. This was never going to happen. This was all a smokescreen, either by Lewis to create an imaginary market for his services (more likely) or by the Pats to create alternatives to put pressure on some real target (less likely, but possible), or both.

Looks like Jason Taylor will be in Patriot blue soon then

The Pats were not going to give Lewis 9M per year. They need a passrusher, not a 35 year old ilb. I didn't think anybody was going to outbid the Ravens anyways.

That's a pretty good deal, if you're Baltimore you don't want to lose the heart of your defense and this should keep them a playoff contendor for the next few years. That being said I'm glad we didn't dish out that kind of cash for him I think our defense is fine at MLB.
