After leaving Green Bay without a contract, free agent DB Mike Adams is en route to New England.
Cleveland free agent safety Mike Adams concluded what his agent said was a "great" visit and will now head to New England for a visit with the Patriots.
Agent Peter Schaeffer wouldn't say whether the Packers made an offer. Adams is believed to be the first player to come in for a visit to the Packers.
It remains to be seen how hard the Packers pursue him. It's not a need position. But the fact he's visiting the Patriots means there's interest elsewhere and they might have to act accordingly if they want him.
The Patriots recently re-signed veteran safety James Sanders to a three-year, $9 million deal. They probably would be looking at Adams as a backup and special teams player.
