He claims that he heard this rumor today. I don't buy it, but we'll see.

Man you're a fast typer!!! I just came here to report the same thing

Rumor probably started by Ray Lewis (or his agent), who seems determined to create the illusion of interest where none exists.

I just don't see it. We don't need another 35 year old LB. Lewis doesn't like to do the kind of dirty work that we like to see our LB's do. And Lewis wants a bigger contract than he is worth. I would be shocked.

Hmmmmm...what do you think Lewis to the Pats??? WHy Cleve?? Mangini is a LONG way from the owl or even close...but go after him?? Really interesting. Holley has just said that when Lewis was out of Florida that BB sat down with him and and is really pleased that Lewis is a film nit...who knows a LOT about football and wishes to know more. THAT I find is interesting..but Holley things NO on Lewis...and a question mark on JT...especially working out on the offseason.

Depends on the money. Lewis can still play at a very high level.

But it's pretty safe to say that if we added Lewis to the mix inside with Mayo (and possibly Taylor) good lord that would be a ferocious front 7.

me too, we just traded Vrabel, why would we then bring in Lewis?? Peppers maybe, but I do see Lewis coming here as we got enough over 30 LBs

Well, the rumor on PFT was that his financial demands w/ the Jets - w/ his former defensive coordinator as head coach - were obscene. If he wants that type of money, I can't see the Pats breaking the bank for a 35 year old, no matter how good he is.

Do you guys have a link?

Why would Lewis play for a weasel like Mangini?

If Lewis signed would it possibly cost Tedy his job? What are the cap ramifications of cutting Tedy?

I don't care how good Lewis is - or was, or still is... whatever - I do not want that PUNK on this team.

He said that the report is Lewis is being offered the most by the Ravens, but is interested in the Pats more.

Probably knows he isn't going to get a long term deal, and even though the money would be bigger, he might see a short term shorter money deal as preferable, if he can win another ring.

Ray Lewis hates playing in a 3-4 where he has to take on guards, he's on record saying it. Why would we want him? Why would he want to play here?

I don't see it happening. Lewis is a seriuos upgrade over Tedy in ability, but if you look at the rest: They're about the same age, Tedy has got great respect in our locker room, He will come about three times cheaper (i thought tedy's cap was around 2 mil) and you will disrespect him, while we want him back after his career is done as an assistant or something.

So i don't see the need of adding Lewis over Bruschi. Would love to have Lewis next to Bruschi though :D

I want the Bruschi influence to dominate the young backers minds, Ray Ray the mouth doesn't sell me.

Because Ray Lewis is a much, much better player than Mike Vrabel is. And I'm a big Mike Vrabel fan.

I dont' understand.. Why would we do this.. Lewis would cost us more than the LB we just dumped (which I don't think we would have).. Plus has anyone watched him lately? His play has definitely fallen off.. He gets eaten up by guards now..

I trust Holley when he says he has a source saying Lewis will sign with the Pats. But in this instance, Holley has only heard a rumor that the Pats are interested. I hear rumors too...
