For what's it worth per Draftcountdown...

1. Matthew Stafford QB Georgia
Franchise signal caller with one of the strongest arms in football.
2. Aaron Curry OLB Wake Forest
Playmaker at the linebacker position with terrific size and speed.
3. Jason Smith OT Baylor
Athletic former tight end with the tools to protect the blind side.
4. Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech
Prolific college pass catcher with all the tools except elite speed.
5. Eugene Monroe OT Virginia
Follows Ferguson and Albert as the Cavs next great LT prospect.
6. B.J. Raji DT Boston College
A massive, powerful player who could excel in either a 4-3 or 3-4.
7. Malcolm Jenkins CB Ohio St.
Prototypical size, average speed but will hit and support the run.
8. Brian Orakpo DE Texas
Workout Warrior who could be a 4-3 DE or a 3-4 OLB in the pros.
9. Jeremy Maclin WR Missouri
A explosive playmaker as a pass catcher, runner and return man.
10. Chris Wells RB Ohio St.
Big (6-1, 235), bruising runner with the ability to be a workhorse.
11. Michael Oher OT Ole Miss
Terrific size along with great athleticism, quickness and strength.
12. Mark Sanchez QB USC
Only started for one year but is more talented than Matt Leinart.
13. Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma St.
Timed speed's just average but an excellent all-around tight end.
14. Andre Smith OT Alabama
Very athletic and can be dominant but has some question marks.
15. Vontae Davis CB Illinois
Physical tools are first-rate but intangibles are a question mark.
16. Everette Brown DE Florida St.
Explosive pass rusher whose optimal fit may come as a 3-4 OLB.
17. Rey Maualuga ILB USC
Big, tough, nasty middle linebacker who can really lay the lumber.
18. Percy Harvin WR Florida
Undoubtedly a Top 10 talent but durability issues are a concern.
19. Tyson Jackson DE L.S.U.
Isn't an elite pass rusher but will be a perfect fit in a 3-4 scheme.
20. Brian Cushing OLB USC
Tough, versatile 'backer but has really struggled to stay healthy.
21. Darrius Heyward-Bey WR Maryland
Not many can match his amazing combination of size and speed.
22. Peria Jerry DT Ole Miss
Penetrator with top speed / quickness and outstanding strength.
23. Knowshon Moreno RB Georgia
Average measurables but fantastic vision, patience and instincts.
24. James Laurinaitis ILB Ohio St.
Super instinctive and plays both the run and the pass effectively.
25. Aaron Maybin DE Penn St.
Top pass rusher but vastly undersized and isn't ready physically.
26. Alphonso Smith CB Wake Forest
Doesn't have the height you look for but is fast and a playmaker.
27. Larry English DE Northern Illinois
Extremely productive pass rusher who can project to DE or OLB.
28. Josh Freeman QB Kansas St.
Could move way up due to his size (6-6, 250) and arm strength.
29. Clay Matthews OLB USC
Hard worker who went from a walk-on to a possible first rounder.
30. Clint Sintim OLB Virginia
Big hitter who can rush the quarterback and drop into coverage.
31. LeSean McCoy RB Pittsburgh
Compact, productive runner with a burst who hits the hole hard.
32. Louis Delmas S Western Michigan
Plays both the run and pass effectively and is also a team leader

I would trade down from 23 if possible to try to get two of A. Smith, Sintim, Chung (or Delmas)

Chung reminds me of Young Ronnie Lott. He can definitely lay the wood.

He might be, bar none, the safest player in the draft. I see him more like a Brian Dawkins, but if he turns out to be Lott, I wouldn't complain.

picked up profootball draft book. not bad... the way we see it on Chung " A good functional football player who should be able to contribute readily, chung could be most effective in the box. enough foot quickness and range to play off the hashes and is the type of player coaches feel comfortable having as a last line of defense but he is more suited inside."

I hope we can get him now after hearing this. He would help us.

Barwin+Chung = A successful first day for the Pats. I'm glad that Barwin has not been hyped too much yet, but I think he will get more as draft day approaches.

then let's take care of the right side of the offensive line. Eben Britton from Arizona and Move Kaczur to the inside.

The young Ronnie Lott who played cornerback? ;)

I do like Chung, and he would be an excellent complement to Meriweather. But I'll still take Delmas first.

If we got all 3 of these guysBarwin+Chung and Eben Britton from Arizona
that would be a sweet draft.
We do have the picks to make it happen.

I really enjoy draft day as a Pats fan.

There's a lot to like about both of them. I have Delmas as #1B.

Why the love affair for Chung? While he did have 92 tackles last year, he only had 6 passes defended and 1 interception.

We need a PLAYMAKER in the secondary.

In the third maybe even 4th round we could get a guy like Hamlin who hasmadeplays. He had 110 tackles, 10 passes defended, 6 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles. And he did this playing in the ACC, not that bad a conference.

While I am concerned about his speed and previous foot injuries, he seems worth the gamble.

Chung isn't a ballhawk but his real value and strengths lie elsewhere. He'd earn his keep with his strong ST skills, as he works his way into the sub-packages. He's an extremely aggressive player w/ exc. tackling ability -- something the secondary could use. Picks and passes defended are about opportunities to make a play on the ball. Who knows how often passes were within his reach this past season -- I haven't a clue. I do know he was used at different positions as the rover back -- (CB, Strong Safety, Free Safety, and LB) which may have affected his stats. That's a lot different than a CB compiling stats in one-on-one matchups vs WRs for a whole season. With Chung -- it's about the player and his intangibles -- not his numbers.

We may also get that playmaker from the CB position.

So you want to spenda high draft pick on a ST player/Backup SS?

Can't we get the same thing on day 2 and use our high draft picks on PLAYMAKERS?

yah if he is as good as we think he is im sure he will get his hype. most good players will
