That's right. Lost in all the hoopla surrounding "THE TRADE" is the fact that Pierre Woods was given a 2nd round tender by the Patriots. There is also a plethora of teams moving to the 3-4. By my count, Denver, Green Bay, and KC are all new teams running the 3-4. And this is in addition to the Pats, Cleveland, the Jets, Dallas, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Miami, and Arizona. Cleveland, Denver, KC, and Green Bay are all looking to add 3-4 type players. With "the trade" KC is probably not going to sign Woods. But any of the other 3 could and then we could see a similar scenario play out like what happened with Welker, but in reverse.

4 second rounders... hmmmmm...

34 and the next closest for Peppers.

The third one for Best available Cornerback.

The fourth for Iglesias.

I would be extremely shocked if someone gave up their 2nd rounder for Woods.

The fourth for Iglesias.

I really doubt anyone is going to give up a 2nd for Woods.

Miami fans said the same thing about Welker when he was a free agent. They were blown away when the Pats traded for him.

The Seahawks didn't think anyone would sign Steve Hutchinson when they put the transition tag on him. Yet the Vikings did.

These teams that are switching to the 3-4 are going to be looking for players with experience in it. That experience can cause teams to do stupid things.

so you think woods is a future pro-bowler? if he is... then why don't we want him to come back instead of losing him?

Re: Food for thought.. Pats could end up with a 4th 2nd round pick

that would be great, but i highly doubt it will happen. i will say this about woods, he definitely has the look of a good football player. big, pretty fast and agile. maybe somebody bites, but unlikely

Currently he is worth more to us than any one. If he gets picked up good for him he is young, fast and big .At 26 he is already converted to OLB as last year you never saw him not covering a FB or RB coming out in the flats correctly .He was called very good pass rusher and if he starts to play good in coverage and not make a mistake in coverage he will be a great pickup for someone.

Why would someone be shocked for a 2nd round pick? Woods is an NFL ready LB. He played pretty good last year and imo will only get better. I'm a little puzzled by some that underestimate his value. Apparently BB thinks he is worth a 2nd rounder. I'd prefer we keep him myself.

because 2nd round picks are valued high. you should get a hicaliber player with a 2nd rounder. unfortunately so many 2nd round picks are busts.

it's the same argument of should the pats have gotten a mid first for cassel?

errrr........yeeeeeeeaaaaahhhh.........

nobody's giving up a 2nd for woods *LMAO*

LOL. Yeah that's about as likely as Giselle growing wings and flying off to Hawaii.

Hey I like Woods. He's a good special teamer and BB seems to like him. But he's not worth a 2nd by any stretch of the imagination. Let's take off the homer-rimmed glasses when looking at our players.

0% chance this happens. Teams might be dumb, but they aren't THAT dumb.

Woods hasn't even proven he is all that effective in ANY defense.

It's 50/50 that he makes the roster this year with TBC etc..

Never say never. Dabruinz may have a point here. It only takes one team to pull the trigger.
