So we're in FA with money and Housh's price is headed for the basement

I know that Gaffney was cut by the Eagles. And there was different reasoning there. He was cut because they signed Stallworth.

I liked Gaffney also. What I find ironic is that the people slamming Gaffney for the dropped catch against the Colts are the same ones who were touting Gaffney after the 2006 season and slamming Caldwell for a dropping a "wide open pass" against the Colts that cost the Patriots a play-off game.

Will we soon be revisiting Moss' critical drops this season?

Belichick: Marvin, your transition to the Dark Side is almost complete.

Marvin: (Heavy Breathing) Where's Peyton?

Belichick: He's gone. You have Brady now.

Marvin: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Why would you mention Moss? He's not part of this thread.

You clearly weren't around for all the Caldwell bashing and the blaming of Caldwell for the loss in the 2006 AFCCG game. So you clearly don't get the irony of the people complaining about Gaffney in the Colts game this year.

I don't understand the Housh hate. I guess because he is brash and can come off as a bit of an a-hole, but the guy is an absolute assassin on the underneath over-the-middle stuff. Between him & Welker, Brady would pick apart defenses 9 and 12 yards at a time.

He'd be worth the money of a 3-year deal, no question.

Of course, I'd rather the Pats give up a 3rd for Chad Johnson, but the Bengals have been so intransigent with him, I doubt they move him now.

You've been on this board long enough to know that there are players and coaches who are lightning rods for every mistake they make and not given credit for the good things they did while others get a free pass. Caldwell was one of those lightning rod guys who gets blamed more for the loss to the Colts than the defense who gave up 35 points in the second half of the game.

Hobbs is the guy now. McDaniels was the guy from the coaching side until he left. I'm sure there will be someone else this year or next.

Roll back two years when we were linked with Moss and a whole lotta folks said similar things about money and atttitude

If the guys has his head on, is willing to be a Pat for decent money(a la Moss) and knuckkles down then its hard to imagine how scary the offense would be. Goodel would probably ban it

Housh on a deal like Stallworths would make a lot of sense.

If I remember right.

A large year 2 roster bonus that essentially makes him a FA or is worthy of a solid WR
if the team decides to pay up.

Are you serious?

I mean, wow. Houshmandzadeh is one of the best receivers in the NFL. If we could have him for $3 million a year, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Line up Moss, Welker, Housh, Faulk, and Watson. Forget about it.

Is Caldwell available?

He's just as good as Gaffney. And he knows the offense.

He's a posession receiver. We already have the best one of those in the league. No thanks.

Plus, it's going to take way more than 3 million guaranteed, I don't care how down his market is.

Housh has already decided he is making a decision between 3 teams tonight.. Minnesota,Seattle and Cincinnati. We'd have to move fast.......not like Denver and Tampa Bay..............
